I really never got that hint you're talking about.

She says pretty much the exact same things if she isnt Divine.

Oh well, time will tell.

The balcony dialogue isn't what I'm referring to. That's just her venting about having to go to a coronation and/or and the inquisitor being busy with the nobles. During the romance if you choose dialogue that is to the effect of "if you're divine nothing changes" rather than "refuse" she will say that it will be impossible to carry on the relationship. In the halls of skyhold at the end of the game, if romanced and becoming divine the dialogue goes something like "We still have some time left, you're not divine yet".

But in the end, as you say we won't know for sure. There is a dialogue option with the heartbreak symobl in the skyhold halls that you can take which says "then its over" or something to that effect. I went back and chose it to see if it would change anything and I still got the balcony seen.

I was about to start a romance with Josephine and then I did the "Guilty Pleasures" quest and fell in love with Cass. The whole conversation with her leaving and then coming back to take back what she had said was priceless.

Hey, everyone. Glad to be back.

I'm currently through my first playthrough and I fear I've already messed up the romance. I've just reached Skyhold and, during the first talk with Cassandra, I chose the romantic dialogue.

At first, it seemed to be going well. They stand by the window and hold hands. But then, it goes nowhere, and there's an option that says "I hope we can be friends."

I admit I skipped over at least one romance dialogue beforehand. Have I already been friendzoned?

I don't know I did not choose that option. I saw that and thought it for a trap so picked another option. Why not just reload?

Check your Inner Circle quests too cause if there is one of her personal quests listed there then all may not be lost.

She friendzone you at first.

You need to complete her personal quest (Promise of Destruction) and you only get it after you have completed the Crestwood part of the Abyss quest to get to talk about romance...

There's the book one too with Varric although I did do both of those after Crestwood.

Wondering... Playing as a KE, I conscripted the rebel mages and blackmailed all the factions in Halamshiral. Both Cassandra, obviously, and Vivienne love me. Done their quests and all that. I had their operations pop up on the war table as well. Is it safe to assume that I could pick who I want at this point for divine? So far I have only openly supported Cassandra.

As a side note. Did "What Pride Has Wrought" last night with the Magequisition. First time I didn't drag Cassandra along. Gotta say everyone was talkative. Solas for spoilers, Vivienne going back and forth with Morrigan, and Morrigan making fun of Dorian while he comes to terms with the giant half-truth that is Tevinter history. Also it was pretty cool taking on the remnants of the Red Templars with five mages.

I got that dialogue encounter after starting the romance and there was no friendzone, so maybe you didn't begin it soon enough?

I did see an option in one dialogue with her that was "I hope we can be friends" I did not choose it and am now on the quest to find romantic goods so I think you can still push on. Just don't pick "I hope we can be friends."

I picked "I hope we can be friends," and still was able to romance her. You guys really need to calm down.

I picked the "I hope we can be friends" and it played out the same. It's basically just an acknowledgement that they care about each other. Nothing more or less.

Edit: Ninja'd, what Br3admax said. Calm your ****.

Huh? I like how people can make assumptions like that on the internets. Perfectly calm son. Get over yourself.

Good for you. Do you want a pat on the back or something for your pointless display of rebellion?

Playing through the romance scene again, and I just noticed that Cassandra's gloves look really, really cool with the claws and studs. Why she used a stick to hit Iron Bull when she could have just punched him I'll never understand.

She didn't want to have IB's skin and blood on her pretty gloves? They are rather shiny.

Just stopping by to say that I went into DA:I with no real opinion of Cass, and came out the other side with her as one of my favorite companions.  She is simply top notch in my book.

So did you guys know Cassandra had a sense of humor?

Sure when she's serious she's all business, but when you get past her armor she's actually surprisingly amusing and humorous.

Cassandra has quickly become my FemQunari Inquisitor's best friend. ( Not counting Sera cause I'm romancing her, though Dorian would be close behind her if he'd only talk to me more. ) I'm not even sure how it happened entirely. But I was playing my snarky humorous Inquisitor because, let's face it, it's just more fun.

And when I joke around with Cassandra now she laughs right along with me. She's comfortable enough now to roll with the joke, and even fire back a few jokes of her own. To say I was pleasantly surprised with how that relationship has worked out, well ... I most definitely am. :)

' "She was a Funny Qunari." That is what they will say of you one day. '  Hearing that line I felt as if I had truly accomplished something wonderful.

Yep.

Iron Bull: Solid work back there, Seeker.

Cassandra: You as well.

Iron Bull: The way you back-handed that guy with your shield and damn near chopped him in half; you and boss should try that between the sheets.

Cassandra: Who is to say we haven't?

Cassandra's party banter with almost everyone is gold 99% of the time. She verbally slaughters Blackwall after his little revelation though.

That one cracked me up:

Blackwall: They say your family almost drove the dragons to extinction. A shame...majestic beasts.

Cassandra: Majestic? Say that after you see a pile of dragon shi.t bigger than your house.

I just found out something. It's so minor it's practically nothing. Anyone in the party can ride your chosen mount. I got my shot of Cassandra on a white horse! (imperial charger or something). I'm so happy.
