Divine Victoria and the Prince/ss-Consort of Ferelden. That'll work out.

Anyway, Cassandra wants reform, Leliana wants to start over. They don't think the same. I'm also fine with the romance ending this way. The Inquisitor's happiness means nothing when compared to the happiness of the rest of Thedas. I just like Divine Vivienne more.

No prob. I like them both. I don't want either to be Divine. I think their individual/personal lives are more interesting.

Well, Vivienne's evil and repulsive, so... I'd rather avoid that, thanks.

Why is she evil, exactly?

I think she's great. My favorite mage in DA, so far. Maybe Velanna was a little cooler.

Don't get her started lol

Long story short, Vivienne doesn't share her views

Look at who you're talking to. Because she's a conservative mage who doesn't cater to Dalish.

That's funny.. since I can juggle the two contrary ideas.. by liking Velanna.

I do wonder what Vivienne will be up to if the Circles are dissolved, the College of Enchanters is established, and Leliana governs the Chantry as the new Divine. Cassandra, at least, can either stay with the Inquisition or rebuild the Seekers.

Vivienne seeks power.  In some ways that in fact makes her the Tevinter nightmare everyone in Thedas is afraid of.

She just does it while saying the right things.

I think she'd probably just find a little personal focus and happiness, as the others do if not Divine.

I wonder if with lelianna in charge we are on the first step to a mageocracy? if so, that might be interesting outcome.

It likely has to do with her moral opposition to the Chantry controlled Circles, rather than your perceived notions about the Dalish.

haha.. Well, she does say the right things. Even Cassandra is a little in limbo with her beliefs.. Vivienne is refreshing, being the only true Chantry supporter on the group... and a mage to boot. If it's all for power, then good on her. She fooled me.

That would not make Vivienne pure evil as opposed to anyone else. "Let the mages rule themselves with our guidance," is basically the Chantry as it was before.

There are people who condemned the institution of the Chantry controlled Circles as slavery, so you would be mistaken to think that only the Dalish would be morally opposed to the status quo that Vivenne wants to bring back; whether or not you see it as such is another matter entirely.

Seriously, I'd have to give her mad props if her game was to be a magister this whole time.

She basically told the rebels to ****** off and led the loyalist fraternity all this time. She could have found her opening to Tevinter by siding with Fiona, but no! She had some devious plan to manipulate the Loyalists.. and the future/non-existent Inquisition later.

The conversation about how she got her position at court, and the later cut scene where she (well, I guess can) manipulates a scenario to make it appear as if the Inquisitor supports her for Divine both show her as a power-seeker.

Except the actual writers. But I'm sure you know more about the Circle than Gaider, Lob. Just like you know more about the setting than anyone else. Even when it blatantly tells you you're wrong.

I never said pure evil.

So what. It means she plays the Game. It doesn't mean she wants to be like Tevinter. She founds herself on completely different principles. And she gives you good approval if you express similar beliefs about such things. Like meeting Alexius.

I wasn't suggesting that.  Just that she has some of the very same ambitions people in Thedas are worried about.  She just has them properly, within the socially acceptable confines of Chantry dogma.

Her entire philosophy is about the dangers and responsibility of magic. I think she's sincere about it. She doesn't play around there. Politics are a different matter.

Good Lord, I half wanted the option to kill all three of them.

Just baricade the doors and light the whole palace on fire.

You might want to respond to what I actually write next time. Since you seem to have missed the point, let me repeat myself: when fictional characters in Thedas, like Aldenon or Anders, condemn the institution of the Chantry controlled Circles as slavery, it's clear that the Dalish aren't the only ones who might oppose a return to the status quo.
