In retrospective, I'm surprised that even Corypheus himself seems to believe.

Like I said, my Inquisitor started to believe at one point and during the fall of Haven, he actually said to Corypheus "it is a gift from Andraste" and his response is something like "Then your lady must want you dead because I will not allow a rival to live."

He was there, he saw what happened but he doesn't actually just say "You grabbed an elven orb, you moron."

It's bigger than the orb to him. In his mind, he sees a competitor for the hearts and minds of the world.

Because in his distorted view, he thinks he's the god the world needs. And now there's this other upstart who poses a real threat. He takes it seriously, no matter where the power comes from. Same with the Envy demon in the Templar quest.

I don't think Corypheus doesn't believe in the maker, he said he saw the seat and it was empty. As Sera said in more colorful langue, if there's a seat then there must be a person to sit in it. The "You grabbed an elven orb, you moron" line would have been hilarious though. :P

That would require admitting that an old woman smacked the orb out of his hand.  His pride can't handle that.

The Maker is an old Tevinter God, why wouldn't he believe in him? He just wanted to meet Dumat in the Fade, and could not find him.

I'm very very atheist in my daily life, and I went in with the intention of playing that way, but seeing the needs of the people around the Inquisitor, and knowing that a strong common ground would help the cause my Inquisitor ended up grudgingly agnostic but gracious towards the chantry. The comfort and hope of the people looking for guidance was more important than personal feelings. I'm not sure if this makes me a better atheist or a worse one :/

I don't think it really matters ;)

This Cassandra-Divine business is still making me feel very, very conflicted. I got Vivi as Divine in my Knight Enchanter playthrough, and while Cassandra decides to reform the Seekers, my Trevelyan and her are still a couple. However, I can't help but feel that there is some seriously unfulfilled potential. Kind of like the king-maker decision with Alistair, but even more pronounced. Her vision of the chantry is my favorite of the three (unhardened Leliana being a somewhat distant second), and the epilogue suggests that she does indeed becomes a very capable Divine, ushering a new golden age and such.

Bah. I'll probably try a warrior Trevelyan for my second playthrough after some patches and maybe DLC, with Cass as LI, and see if I can help her ascend the Sunburst Throne.

The epilogue does not say Cassandra ushers in a new golden age. It says people wanted a return to the status quo and the Inquisition quickly stepped in to stop them.

Mine ended with Morrigan saying "ushers a new golden age".

Personally I think anything that leads to war can hardly be considered "golden" but that's just me. That aside, the epilogue for Origins also said Ferelden would enter a "golden age," with my Warden working with Anora. It didn't. I'll wait till something post campaign t judge though.

You must raise your hand if you romanced Cassandra your first run through but inadvertently made her divine, hated how the romance turned out, and then promptly deleted that character, started all over and just now beat the game again the RIGHT WAY.

*raises hand*

:?

Why? All I get is that it she thinks that it will be impossible to maintain the relationship...

The way I see it... in the hierarchy of the Chantry, there is the Maker, there is Andraste and there is the Inquisitor; Herald of Andreste. Since the Maker is never seen, Andreste long gone and even the Temple of her ashes blown to oblivion, the Inquisitor is the highest authority when it comes to matter of faith.

   I can say: Maker says that the Divine should marry the Herald and rule the faithful together.

Who dares oppose the Inquisitor if I wish to summon the "Divine" to Skyhold for instructions from the Maker B) . I am sure some will try and the Inquisitor will send them to where he sent Corypheus.

I find the possibilities fun

I think there are other variables besides who becomes divine that determine how their reign is described.

Corypheus: I'm the god this world deserves.....but not the one it needs......

Corypheus is Batman DLC forthcoming. Semi-confirmed rumor.

I think completing the candidate's inner circle quest is necessary to get a good divine ending. For instance, if you don't do Leliana's quests, she doesn't do anything about other sects rising up which winds up fracturing the chantry whereas if you did it, she stops them through diplomacy or force.

Amateurs. Don't they know striving for god-hood is impractical and for the insane (quick, someone give me Solas' quote about a god not having to prove himself)?  Please, don't associate Tevinter hasbeens with me.

"The key is understanding this: No real god need prove himself. Anyone who tries is mad or lying. His deception will undo him, as it has done countless fools before."

Probably the only reason Solas actually entertains and respects the notion of the Maker, if not see it as a possibility.

First time poster here. Love Cass, but I have a couple of smart-arsed Inquisitors, that are interested in having Varric finish the romance serial, so they can give the finished pages as a gift. However, I acquiesced to Varric's request, to let him be there when I give the pages to her. Is she going to go all "Annie Bates" on my PC's...or Varric??

I adore Cass, but these two PC's of mine, have a little  in them. Good hearted, but like "poking the bear", so to speak. ;)

It varies a bit. Here's how I accomplished it: I had Cullen defend Clan Lavellan during the bandit raid, then had Leliana sneak Keeper Istimaethoriel and her clan into Wycome when it was discovered that the humans were suffering from red lyrium (leading to the people viewing them as heroes, except among the nobles who started to spread malicious rumors about the Dalish to the neighboring city-states in retaliation), and then had Cullen protect Wycome from the other Marcher states because Clan Lavellan refused to abandon the Andrastian elves in the city-state, since they would likely get killed by the invading humans.

A happy ending for Clan Lavellan. :)

I don't think it's possible to be anything more than mildly annoying during this part.

So, the first Lavellan operation isn't as important as the ones that come after it? Few, I'm on my second completionist playthrough and had Josephine reassure them that I was still alive. Note to self: ALWAYS USE CULLEN TO DEFEND.

Choosing Cullen for the very first quest in Haven (when they ask about Lavellan) will get the clan killed. Cullen is essential in defending the clan from the attackers, however.
