Sometimes we don't choose who we fall in love with. Especially in a rational way.
I guess this is one of those cases. Heh

The game suggests otherwise.
The game doesn't suggest Celene is actually in love with her. Keeping a locket and saying you love someone isn't actually loving them. The fact that she'll execute Briala unless you get evidence to help her is proof enough for me.

Yup. With Celene it's a mixture of lust, unhealthy infatuation, and a dose of dependency. It's mos def not love. You don't kill someone you 'love' for political reasons.

Really? From what I've seen you have to make implicate Briala to have Celene execute her. Otherwise, Briala's fate is ignored. Also, the game doesn't indicate anything about Celene's actions apart from the alienage burning so it seems the mission is both built for book readers while also never telling average players more about the characters. Take the complete lack of Briala's eluvians.

You do if you're Orlesian.

Then it's not love. And they're a souless people.

There is no way to implicate Briala of anything if Celene is alive. And there's no reason to, the throne is already hers, what could Briala possibly do? She just kills Briala, from what I've seen and played.
This isn't about what the game shows us. This is about what's actually there. You implied this wasn't the case, when absolutely nothing supports Celene actually loves Briala.

Well Celene doesn't do anything to Briala and the ending reveals Briala just gets exiled. You have to make Celene execute Briala as she doesn't do it by default.
Nope, you actually have to ask for exile, not the other way around. Just like Gaspard. You picking to save her doesn't change that.
Honestly? They're all three nuts. Which is why I like this quest. I've had Celene alone, Gaspard/Briala, and will be going for reconciliation this time. BW did a great job giving you a set of option with no obvious best option.
I'm having a blast flirting with Cass. Just past the prologue and my poor Cadash is smitten.

On another note, I wish I could relate to Cass on more personal levels. Like when she talks about Anthony. I'd like to have my own stories and tragedies (possible tragedies). When they first announced the game, the origin stories they had in mind almost sounded like Mass Effect. Different humans with different backgrounds...except we'd play through them (rather than select a profile like ME). Here, as a human, you can only relate by nobility (and whether you like it or not) and the Herlad of Andraste title. But it'd be nice if there were more personal angles. Even Hawke had this going for it.. DA2 can be a very personal story. This is a step back even from the mult-race DAO.. since they had origin stories that were personal in their own way.
Another reason why I hate so many race options. It just becomes all about the Herald of Andraste stuff.

Cass was raised by Uncle Vestulus (LOL) and Magi Trev was raised by the Circle.

Hey, I never said it was healthy.

There are more variations than DA:O, so it won't work. People wanted more races, more than Origins, and this is the result. There's also more content to come. This isn't even all of the base game yet.

Yeah, I know. I'm just using the noble as an example.
What if, say, I wanted Trevelyan to be either diplomatic or have some tragedy that made him pissed off at mages. It changes the whole game. Then your journey partly becomes about working that out and coming to peace with it.

In any case, my noble is basically Sebastian (lol) IF you had spared Anders. He was an unruly youth, who came to terms with his family's demands, but since he screwed around for so long, he was too old to be a templar. He would have been a cleric.. probably something lame like Roderick if he was lucky. He saw his life as nothing but untapped potential. Later on, the mage/templar war caused a lot of tragedy with someone he cared for (still working out the details on that).
Cass, and the Inquisition, in a way, is everything he was meant for... he just didn't know how to go about it.
Sorry to bore you with my RP. That's the best I got though. For a human noble.
Besides Cassandra, I think Vivienne is kind of crucial for my story... she makes mages look good again.

Not my imagination, for sure.
It's just that I like to see little "cues" in the game that acknowledge these tropes. ME managed it, even with a crappy profile. With that little variation in origin, I could create characters that bonded with, say, Jack (Sole Survivor... Cerberus guinea pig) or Tali (colonist kind of comes to mind). Or whatever.

I haven't romanced her, but it seems like a Cadash or Adaar would connect especially well with her desire for spiritual renewel and a focus on charity. Though this is from the perspective of someone who'd always see her as Divine.
Your Cadash is some random Carta thug and surface dwarf. Adaar isn't Qunari. He's just some merc doing bodyguard work. I like Cadash more, but it's all more hamfisted than the human stories. Only mage makes real sense, without a lot of imagination.

Play a different race. If you dare. Qunari, probably. Just like your Warden was still a spoiled brat in Highever no matter what you did, if you played human, so too was your Inquisitor, if s/he is human.
