I just tend to think it makes the dragon look weak, more so than making the dragonslayer look impressive.

personally i think they should do the dragons in dragon's dogma style (in terms of the last boss)... you would fight and damage the dragon until a certain point and he would leave, when you came back later and went to fight him again he had the same health that you left him with after your first battle and it took some people many battles to do it. i wouldnt mind having to fight a dragon in a certain area multiple times to kill it, especially if its challenging.... makes the reward all the sweeter

So the dragons were weak in Dawn of the Seekers and Cassandra wasn't impressive (to one-shot them with a dagger in mid-flight...)?

I think people are giving the dragons in DA too much credit.
Yes, they are incredibly strong creatures. Yes, they can burn villages and kill sheep and people very easily. However, they are not this ultimate uber-powerful final bosses some people may think. The fact that Nevarran dragon hunters managed to push them to the brink of extinction in Thedas (not just in their country, in the whole continent!) tells us that they can be defeated by normal humans, not just overpowered mages or snowflake protagonists.

Officially, that happened because of the Pentaghasts and their secret dragon killing technique, but the truth is that there was no extinction (thanks to Flemeth and Yavana). You think that the dragon hunters would have realized that the dragon population was decreasing faster than they were killing them...

What did Flemeth and Yavana do? Make more baby dragons? ![]()
I could see Flemeth be the type that would be crazy enough to lay an egg.

I'm thinking Cass is that cute type of love interest that gets flustered really easily when it comes to romance and when I imagine that it's really cute.
I know there is a lot of fan art to this extent, but is this actually based on... anything?
Is she like that in the anime movie?

It might based on the fact that she has hearts engraved in her armour and that she got all whimsical at Hawke dueling the Arishok 1 v 1.

She does not fluster a single time in the anime.

Probably realized, and that would explain why they kept their dragon-killing techniques for the next Pentaghast generations, in case they came back in large numbers again.
Still, Nevarran dragon hunters, normal humans, killed dragons. Lots of them. That Flemeth and Yavana protected them is in fact a proof of that, since the Silent Grove was the last haven for an endangered species. This information has to be kept in mind, because I suspect that many people will complain about the Inquisitor killing several dragons in DA:I.
Fan: "The Inquisitor is overpowered! Dragons have been cheapened!"
Cassandra: "Tell that to my family."

More like a nature reserve + suspended animation.

Matt Rhodes made a piece a while back that pretty much makes me think of Cassandra/Inquisitor date night:
This image appears cheerful at first until you realize that these two people are literally joined together. Instead of defeating the necromancer, they died and were patched together. Now they enter your house, laughing wildly while cradling a decapitated head. They'll leave in a few minutes laughing wildly while holding a different one.

Nah, this isn't based on anything. I'm just guessing.

"I know you two wanted to spend eternity with one another. Now, you will!"
You know, that sound more like something the villain would say in the final showdown when he is close to defeat the heroic duo of Inquisitor and Cassandra.

I was picturing the sitcom cliché where two people who can't stand each other get handcuffed together. Unless we're fighting an omnipotent Varric or Sheogorath, Daedric Prince of Madness this probably won't happen.
Inquisitor: Any ideas how to free us?
Cassandra: (draws a knife)
Inquisitor: You are not cutting off my hand! Even if it isn't the magic rift closing one!
Cassandra: I'm going to try and weaken the chain. Why in Andraste's name would I maim you?
Inquisitor: You did hold your sword to my throat.
Cassandra: You're not going to let that go are you?

inquisitor: yeah, if the kids ask us how we met, dont mention the whole sword to my throat thing... dont want them thinking their dad has some weird fetish

Remember, if Cassandra has kids, she would probably teach them the book-stabbing, dragon-killing techniques of her ancestors. The children will probably be told to use a sword in every greeting.
