I haven't finished the game yet so I'm avoiding threads like this like the plague, but I wanted to drop off a couple of pics of Cass for you:

tumblr_nglp11LKey1s7qd6po1_1280.png

That. is. beautiful.
No really... wow.

That. is. gorgeous.
I love Cassandra's unconventional beauty.

Also, to the Cass+Qunari naysayers, it's pretty evident in her banter with Bull that she wouldn't mind a Qunari between her legs. She makes it clear that Bull would never be that Qunari, because he's just not her type... he would sleep with anyone, basically if they asked nicely, and if they didn't. She's a romantic, it's the person she likes, the ideals, the values, etc. Horns and head-height armpits wouldn't stop her if he was the right guy.

I'm not gonna hate on the Dwarves, or at least I don't meant to, but I just can't take them seriously like that. Either he's gonna have a face full of ( . Y . ), or she's gonna get bad knees... Maybe if he had a stool?

Elves would just be like a skinny Tom Cruise, right?

I don't get what makes any of this that weird...

I don't see the problem here.

Lol @dwarves. And yeah I felt sorry for poor IB, he got shot down twice by Cass only to see her with another Qunari haha.

As for the stool, I saw a picture of a dwarf with a romance earlier today where it looked oddly enough as if he were standing on one. That or my mind is playing tricks on me.

I guess I can't detach human sexuality from reality, and view them as another fantasy race, with it's own parameters. That's pretty much what it boils down to. It's not something I want to trivialize. And last but not least, it's not how I want to picture beautiful women. When it comes to sex, I'm stuck in reality. Stuck. Gladly.

Excuse me while I go watch some porn. Some of it is weird too, but the majority of it isn't nearly as freaky as this stuff. :D

Which is odd to me. That a game breaks my threshold before porn does. I don't think any of you appreciate just how "edgy" you actually are. ;)

Let Solus teach you: the cheekbones don't make the person, the person makes the cheekbones.

That would apply in everyday life. Looking into the value of people's hearts and minds and whatnot. I'm not a shallow person. I know this. I'm not even that attractive myself. I always hope people can be more like this.

I can't accept the notion as much in fantasy..It's just a creation of other humans. Not an actual alternate world. I reject things based on an artistic level. Not because I deny fake races their "personhood". I reject the writer/creators themselves in these cases. It always goes back to a disagreement with other humans.

That's fair.

See, as somewhat of a progressive thinker, I'm quite attracted to the notion of evolution, life itself and the diversity of it all being the cogs that drive the wheel of existence. I respect other schools of thoughts, but this works for me, anyway, point is, maybe one day human beings won't look the same anymore? We may evolve. The flesh and form that we reside inside shouldn't be a wall to consensual sex, but rather a facility. I mean, sex and procreation are very different, one is a show of affection, trust, the manifestation of a bond words can't quite describe; the other is to make babies.

I think anything can be made weird with enough thought put into it, but as a distilled notion, a burly horned man sinking himself into a beautiful yearning woman isn't a thought that inspires repulsion. Not to me at least. Likewise, Blackwall and a lady Qunari work as an inverted paradigm. An exotic beauty, edges like a dragon, and the presence of a goddess, invites you inside to touch her like none other could. This is just an idea, one that exists only within fantasy, but it is we who give it meaning. We decide what it is and why, and there is no wrong answer.

Fantasy should be a space to explore thoughts that centuries of hypocritical stigmas and invented propriety typically turn us from. The mind is a complex thing, no one should do what makes them uncomfortable, but don’t be afraid to analyse the why behind the why.

Evolution is a process requiring hundreds of millions of years. I don't need to adjust my entire paradigm for humanity and sex anytime soon. To me, that's just a copout. Like I said, you guys are edgy. Or freaks. I used that word that too. Pick whatever you like best. ;) It'could be offensive. Or you could be proud of it. I don't know. I always liked the Hunter Thompson quote. "When the going gets weird... the weird turns pro."

A copout for what?

He should be able to stop Cole regardless. He has magical powers. If Cullen can defeat Demon Cole, Lambert should be able to defeat a weakened spirit Cole. The Litany should be enough for that.

It was a cutscene.

Remember, the actual gameplay isn't how "reality" works.

In "real-life" Dragon Age, you take a fireball to the face then you die unless you have magical protection.

The Grey Warden can die with a knife to the face like anyone else.

And that's what happened to Lambert.

Evolution as a means to validate just about every taste. Not saying you're necessarily going there, but it's the same method of reasoning I've seen. So I'm going to reject it at first sight. Slippery slope. To me anyways. Evolution can become a magical wand that can make anything right.

I'd rather just hear the personal point of view from people (That is, if they want to talk about it). Not how it applies in some grand scheme. This is ultimately about psychology. Not evolution.

Nah, I wasn't trying to use evolution to validate anything, I included it as part of my point of view, like, our form isn't infinite, so I don't see it as unnatural or even strange to imagine a humanoid being, and perceive them as a complete person. They can be attractive or unattractive all on their own.

I don't mean to speak for anyone but myself.

Fair enough.

Funnily, I'm watching DS9 right now. Quark is getting it on with some redhead.

Somehow it works better though, because he's a clown.

It was a book where Lambert dueled a Knight-Commander and killed him within 4 sword strikes. He definitely should have fought back. Not let the demon he just banish kill him. Gameplay is actually significantly more drawn out than any battle in "cutscene."

It was actually a knight captain.

And again I blame the poor writing.

Hmm, my mistake. Still, Knight-Captains have to be as strong as their Knight-Commander, given that they are able to force them to stand down.

The writing isn't that bad. I just see it as a quick way to wrap things up.. It could have been drawn out, but it's basically the last page.. An addendum of sorts to rest of the story. And like I said, Cole is a rogue... it's only fitting to win in a cheap way. And he's not a rogue like Isabela, throwing the gauntlet and dueling people.

It wasn't a short quick death, Cole announced he was there, and Lambert sat there. Cole says his catchphrase, and then the book ends. It would be different if Lambert at least tried to defend himself.

Mmm I got another quote.

Colonel Radec: I wish we had met in combat, as soldiers.

Colonel Templar: I agree but we find ourselves here.

:/ Perhaps deserve has nothing to do with it but it still feels hollow to me; why introduce the best sword and board warrior into the universe if you aren't going to do anything with the character?

I think he (Gaider) said much with the character. He painted anti-mage sentiments as a bigger evil than others.

And it's pretty much carried through into DAI. The Templars can never win. You have to reckon with mage freedom to a point. Even the staunchest Templar support requires you to crown a mage as Divine. This is where the world is heading. And it begins in Asunder.. where people like Lambert are painted in the worst light.

I don't think anyone ever disagreed that Cassandra would bang the Qunari Inquisitor. She obviously will.

Nah, Warden is the best sword-and-board in the mythos bar none.

Agreed. That's Gaider's call.

I'm more interested in player motivation for it. If anything. Although I don't want to hear about at all actually. lol.. but if I must...
