I romanced Cass as a dwarf.
I usually play as a dwarven warrior when given the chance as a tribute to my Dwarf Barbarian Axebeard Beardaxe, the very first D&D character I ever rolled.

Distant cousin to Drow'shank Sh'Ankdrow.

Creatures are about as strong as the plot and mechanics demand.

You'd think Imshael, a Forbidden One, would be above the Nightmare on demonic hierarchy but we end up running from the latter.

Meanwhile, Flemeth can be soloed.

That's honestly why I hoped Imshael was an ally to Cory in the main story

To be fair ten year old me wasn't as creative with character names.

I guess I can't detach human sexuality from reality, and view them as another fantasy race, with it's own parameters. That's pretty much what it boils down to. It's not something I want to trivialize. And last but not least, it's not how I want to picture beautiful women. When it comes to sex, I'm stuck in reality. Stuck. Gladly.

Excuse me while I go watch some porn. Some of it is weird too, but the majority of it isn't nearly as freaky as this stuff. :D

Which is odd to me. That a game breaks my threshold before porn does. I don't think any of you appreciate just how "edgy" you actually are. ;)

Considering that each race in the game practically ARE humans, albeit with one or two distinguishing features. Dwarves are just short humans. Elves are humans with pointy ears. Qunari are humans with horns.

Compared to something like Mass Effect where the aliens are actually greatly inhuman in their appearance (many of them, not all of them). The krogan are giant lizards with turtle shell-looking humpbacks. The turians are bird/lizard hybrids. The drell are fish/frog people (aesthetically anyway; they get sick in moist environments, go figure).

I don't mind playing a "younger" character (I pin the rogue/warrior Trevelyan inquisitor around 27-30), and in the context of the Cass romance its interesting for once to have the PC be the younger partner, usually most of the other Bioware romances I've tried have the protagonist be the older, more experienced one either literally or mentally.

Sounds somewhat similiar to my headcanon in some aspects.

I can't speak for the others, but Miranda in Mass Effect is older than Shepard. By the time of ME3, Shepard would be 32 while Miranda is 36.

 Sure, I can write some more if people want. I intended on making a story related to spirits of faith and the divine spirit we saw in the fade. A smutty one of course. I'll probably make a separate thread for that if I do.

If I agree with you on Lambert being painted in a bad light, then all that DG is speaking against would still be an extreme.

Much of the Templar side in DAI is focused on Templars dutifully performing their duties. Saving a mage from a mob and then bringing him to a provisionary Circle; offering a group of mages the chance to surrender with the mages nearly killing those who tried to.

Cassandra, not a mage, brings the Circles back. With greater autonomy, yes, but always under the supervision of Chantry and Templars.

The Templars were never about denying any and all freedoms.

I don't think they're about denying all freedoms either. I just think the story is leading to Templars having the weaker case for thriving.

I thought Cassandra brought plain old autonomy. Not merely greater autonomy. Because that really disappointed me when I heard that. Maybe there's a difference in siding with Templars/restoring Seekers.

No, they're not.

I'm not even that immersed in this setting anymore, but I'm still able to see that they're all distinct. Sure, they're all bipedal with eyes/ears/noses in most of the same places, but they are different. And intended as such.

And if they really are just humans, why do people complain when the race selection is only human? Are they mad because they want to play merely different types of humans? If that was the case, they'd just make human characters with different noses/eyes/skin/etc.. In the same way that humans distinguish themselves in real life.

The truth is, it's unusual. And more unusual to sexualize this stuff. There's a reason why don't you see a lot of similar things in other media. I am not in the minority. I only am here. Maybe you'll see horned giants shagging women on the cover of some lame Black Metal album.. but rarely anywhere else. Maybe in a Danzig video lol. But for him, it's about abusive/dominant imagery. All in all, it's a Metal thing. And always monstrous. And when I read some comments from Qunari fans, I'm finding that they themselves might tap into the same impulse. It'll be a rare person attempting something else.

See, if that's where I was coming from, I'd find the whole Cassandra+Quanri thing pretty off-putting too.

I haven't finished the game yet so I'm avoiding threads like this like the plague, but I wanted to drop off a couple of pics of Cass for you:

No. Nononono.

Some people just like big grey horned people. Some people just like big grey horned people. Some people just like big grey horned people.

The folks you're talking about inhabit the dark and dismal world of YouTube comments and 4chan, where no sane man willingly ventures.

When you are at the level that you ask to borrow armor so your lover can cosplay said person I'm not sure it can be called a "crush"...

Oh, I don't know I was just joking.

Lol but he did try, if you listen to the banter. She shot him down, twice. It gets even worse if you romance Cass as a Qunari Inquisitor, the jelly gets real.

Cass is like those girls who read twilight novels, and won't settle for anything less than a man who resembles the characteristics of Edward Cullen. She's the same way with her ideal, romantic man. No doubt after reading Varric's version of Twilight. :P

Oh no, Cassandra would never have such terrible taste in men. Edward's far from the "ideal".

I haven't used Iron Bull much so I didn't hear the dialogue. I need a way to beat his ass. There's the stick thing, but he likes that, lol.

I started using him recently after I found out what was making him die so much. That last reaver ability, and lack of fade touched obsidian. I play on nightmare, but even on hard, he was dying all the time before my fixes.
