Justinia sounds a lot like Leliana Lite. Her blowing up was the best thing that ever happened to the Chantry.

LOL, which reminds me, how funny was Anders blowing up the chantry in DA2? I laughed sooo ****** hard. It was just so sudden and out of nowhere, lol. I mean, I expected something... but that?? That was ****** overkill

I let Anders live after that. It was just so ****** hilarious. That and I was a mage, and though he kind of screwed everyone over, I actually saw where he was coming from. Better to die fighting than slowly under captivity.

That said, I conscript the **** out of the mages this round. This game made me switch sides.

I sided with Templars first... and now that I know it's just better gameplay wise, I'd never do the mage quest. Cass gets a power boost and you get extra stats.

I like how Redcliffe Castle's door has the Inquisition's heraldry on it. Don't I feel special. You can really tell which quest they cared more about.

Lol this game's way too easy for me to care about stats. It's so obvious that taking the mages is what they favored. You can't beat time travel. And I love how boss Cass is. Even after all that she was still praying to the maker and keeping her mind strong as the steel cage she sat in.

Also, being the right hand of Cassandra the divine and visiting her on occasion for a few weeks, maybe months of banging... that's my new headcanon, lol.

The problem for me has always been that Cassandra is my favorite candidate.. but I'm selfish. I hate this whole ridiculous situation. And then reassure myself that the world isn't ending because the Divine isn't her. Vivienne works.

It's funny that you think she's too conservative. I think she's a moderate. More than I like actually, but mostly she's cool.

Well, when your position starts with, "I want to disband the Templars, burn down all the Circles, and dance on the ashes." Any position is going to look a little right leaning. Cassandra is moderate in the context she views the Chantry in need of reform because it's a corrupt institution controlled by the Orlesian Empire but she still thinks the core is good.

I'm....not so sure.

Really, I held my tongue A LOT when the Grand Clerics were calling for my head.

The irony is Vivienne is the most conservative of them except for the RADICAL changes she makes by allowing mages to serve in the Chantry. I suppose she's the Log Cabin Republican.

Solas and Vivienne have banters with Cassandra about how she let the leadership of the Inquisition go away from her, but she's not the leader because Justinia didn't want to see a Chantry higher up as the leader and Cassandra agreed on the idea. Cassandra explains it at some point in the game.

Also, Cassandra never hated my Herald(s). :P

All the epilogues gave me the impression that Divine Victoria's reign was going to be short lived. What happen with the Divine is probably individual based though. I can see Vivienne being murdered by someone who don't want a mage as Divine. Leliana seems to either murder or blackmail/deceive many people to get what she wants on top of freeing mages which are hated by most mundanes. I don't see her having many friends around.

Cassandra is easier though. Staying on that throne is going to drive her crazy and she have no issue letting go of power when she believes she is not needed. She's probably going to abdicate once here reforms are well implemented in the system.

It will probably turn out that it doesn't matter who you pick for Divine. In the follow up DLC Divine Victoria will resign and then Giselle becomes the next divine.

We get the illusion of choice and Bioware won't get in trouble with their next game.

Sounds about right.

I give Bioware credit where credit is due, they found a wonderful solution to the whole "Pick the Divine" business.

From now on, you can have references to Divine Victoria and letters from her without any real meaningful change.

So she could reign forever.

Assuming the next game just doesn't skip a century.

I can't help it. It's still an RPG.. If I see a power boost, I'm tempted. It helps that I don't care to aid Fiona in any way.

I can deal with all kinds of mage freedom btw... but my ideal always involves a force of Seekers clamping down and hunting when necessary.

Haha, that's debatable, lol. Not that I care, it's the least rpg dragon age out, but still my favorite.

Anyway, there's no free mages in my game, lol. Their asses are mine after what they pulled in Redcliffe. I'm all for forgiveness, but the one thing I can't forgive is stupidity.

My character was especially pissed since he fully wanted to help the mages in rebellion of the templar role his family always tried pushing on him. And then the mages go and **** it all up and prove his family right. Sonofabitch.

Curious: Do you view their 'conscription' as temporary as in they can work off their sins or life time?

In service to the Inquisition? Temporary. The chantry can have them after Cornflakes is dead, unless they choose to stay and serve as my soldiers. At least then they'd be outside the circle walls, maybe even start a new life elsewhere like anyone else in their own home, only as a soldier.

I assume all your soldiers don't live in Skyhold after Cornflakes dies.

Most of the mages leave no matter what, unlike the Templars. They try to establish an independent college. It was funny to see Vivienne crush it under her finely cut heel.

Ah yea that's right. Oh well, **** 'em, lol. I did my best.

I mean, it's okay as long as a mage is doin it right? Haha, I imagine that was my inquisitor's reasoning for supporting her in my first playthrough. Give the mages some power over their fellow mages, and they'll put themselves in cages. At least they're helping to govern themselves. That's something we needed since the beginning.

I'm just curious if Bioware'd be ballsy enough to assassinate Divine Victoria, whoever she may be. Especially Leliana and Vivienne, as they're... especially controversial.

It's kind of interesting how Vivienne and Cassandra both sort of have blind spots regarding the Inquisition.

Cassandra is like, "Templars, Circles, and Chantry."

And I'm like, "And what about the Inquisition?"

Sadly, there's no dialogue for saying. "You know, Magequisitors and Temquisitors could do the job of the first two just fine."

I admit, I'd find it cheap.

Semi-believable but cheap.

True enough. I'd just find it kind of hilarious, regardless of how much I like all three candidates.

It seems like a bigger deal, in the scheme of things, than who the King/Queen of Ferelden is, who the King of Orzammar is (though it seems like we got quite a few references on that front throughout both games), or even who the Empress/Emperor of Orlais is. Seems like it would be hard to adequately address in future games, but I'm not sure how they can't. It does make it simpler that they're all called Victoria, at least.

Take note everything sort of falls into place too. All three of them are allied with the Inquisition and all three of them are also very competent and "good" people.

From the 3, the only one I would not support as Divine is Vivienne (and Hardened Leliana), she just sounds too "scathing , high and might, magic must serve man and etc" but she loves and plays "the game", also, she loves power...

The way she (Vivienne) deals with everything after being named the Divine gives me bad vibes for the future, reminds me too much of Tevinter and how Tevinter was at the beginning of time with her as the Divine...

Hardened Leliana is just wrong too, no one like that should be Divine, no one like that should be allowed so much power.

Softened Leliana might be good I think, she along with Cassandra would be good, but Leliana has the temper for it while being Divine would just kill Cassandra from the inside out...
