All she's said at most is "But what if I'm made divine?"
Then if you answer we can still be together she'll say I'm not so sure, which isn't the same as you're wrong. It simply means she doesn't know.
And I don't get how to make "I'll always stand by your side." more clear, but even if you don't actually see her again, it still shows she wants to be with you when she gets the chance. So at worst, it's still not a break up. Even at the end you say we still have time, which she says is true. She's leaving, yes, but she's not dumping you.
Lol you guys saw that scene completely different from me. It's depressing but still very much hopeful. You can of course interpret it how you wish, but until someone in Bioware says something, it's very much open to your interpretation. But to me there's no way someone can call that her breaking up with you though. Just no way to manipulate that from the English language.
Well, the question for what happens to a romanced Leliana if she becomes divine kind of confirms that the Divine has to take a vow of celibacy. Cassandra doesn't seem to be the type to completely get rid of that like Leliana and she doesn't seem the type to have a secret lover. That plus that conversation and the one where she says that she thinks her duty is to become divine kind of implies she's willing to give up her happiness for her duty. I'm not optimistic enough to believe that the relationship will continue if she becomes divine so I'm glad Leliana will become divine in my games since I get to keep Cass around and my ideal Divine gets put in power. Everyone wins.
