The shooting the gun part means your left eye is dominant.

I shoot rifles lefty.. I'm fine either way with a pistol.

I guess that's a good point someone said about Shield Wall.. but I'm not sure if she was trained to fight in formation to begin with. Seekers are more like one-man/woman armies, mage hunters, and supercops.

IMO Cassandra is a Weapon/Shield duelist with Seeker powers. Offensive over defensive. She'll pick you apart and use her agility/speed to her advantage.

I disagree with the last bit.  The Seekers in the DotS trailer formed a shield wall against the blood mages.

And seeing as how the Seekers are elite Templars, it makes sense that they would how to fight similarly against mages by using shields.  Plus, the Templar abilities in DA:I also give bonuses to companions, which goes along with the whole "group-cohesion leadership" theme.

Whatever training she had though seemed to get thrown out the door.. :D and she just broke formation and flew in like Achilles.

Agreed. And it reflects gameplay wise too. Blackwall is the purer tank.

I also think her long wiry limbs is a great advantage. It served me well.. heh. Coupled with being a lefty.

I'm reminded of that joke in Fight Club now.. about Tyler wondering if he could kick Abe Lincoln's ass.

This was all back in the day when dual-wielding was available to warriors and OPAF.   ;)

Major disappointment. Did the Crestwood half of HLTA and moved on to WEWH to recruit Morrigan. Didn't get the dance. Why? AFAIK you only get the dance after Ideal Romance, but you have to wrap up one of those two main quests to unlock it. I hate postponing WEWH because of pacing issues. And finishing it before taking on the Wardens allows me to move across the map right to left until I get to Western Approach. And finishing WEHW after HLTA makes me want to drop whatever I'm doing and bullrush the endgame. And I don't get to have Loghain and Morrigan chilling at Skyhold at the same time. So it's either dance with Josephine or a date with a hairy palm.

Why did I type this? Because it's disappointing.

Anybody think Cassandra's faith should have been rattled a little harder after the Seeker revelation? I don't mean to the point of debilitating the character, but a conversation about trying to make her feel better about it would've been nice. Cole seems to have taken up the mantle in that regard.

Yeah, I wish it wasn't Cole who had to do that. Although he's a good choice, outside the Inquisitor.

In fact, I wish I had more optional participation in banters in general. It's a cool feature, but not used enough.

As for her being rattled, I can't see it sinking too far.. without changing the whole character. I'm curious how they handle this though post main-mission. How it evolves, how much and what still believes about herself.. and us.

Also, I like this struggle of hers.. it's similar to what we go through.. where does faith end and spirits/magic begin? And was there ever a point to faith to begin with? It's troubling for a Chantry friendly character.

I agree. She'd bothered by it, maybe a little saddened, but she wouldn't let it get her down. Just sucks that the post mission convo we have with her is all about the Seekers and not how she feels about being made tranquil/given her powers.

Her faith inspires me. I feel like my own character wouldn't have much without it. I think I quoted Kamina in this thread awhile back. "Believe in the me that believes in you!" It's almost a power unto itself.

At the same time, her faith is so strong that she believes in almost any Inquisitor. I haven't seen what massive disapproval looks like though (nor do I want to). I heard that she gets paranoid or something.

Not that it matters, because even with only a handful of tanking talents, Cassandra is all but immortal.

I think across 4 playthroughs of DAI, she's fallen in combat ONCE on me.

Oh, I wouldn't trade her for anything. Blackwall is kind of boring.. I just think on paper, he's the complete tank.

She shines just as well as dps or 2hander too.. which he can't.

She tends to fall more for me than blackwall, but then, this is generally only in tough dragon fights, and when it happens, she heals the party, so. Still awesome, even when she's slipping in and out of unconsciousness, lol. Boss.

I keep trying to make Blackwall an off-tank, but he always gets dropped like a bad habit. I refuse to have two of any build especially W&S in the same party. Blackwall has some nice banter with Sera/Cassandra that I don't want to miss out on.

If you really want him around, make her a 2hander. You won't lose anything from it. Although the AI isn't as good with 2h it seems.

Random thought:

I kind of get this sense that she's the anti-Morrigan for DG's characters. Pairing her with a mage makes her and the Inquisitor an anti-Morrigan/Warden couple. As far as my Warden goes. I always saw Morrigan best with a dickhead Cousland warrior.  While in DAI, the warrior is woman, the mage a man.

edit: *probably looking into it too much*

I like symbolism..

Ha, I actually love that  I'm a tank too, so when he's in, there's three of us with shields like bosses. Untouchable. I'd make Iron bull one too, but he'd never forgive me, lol. But I love the all warrior party, for dialogue and gameplay. I usually keep a mage there anyway though, as after a while Blackwall does indeed get dull, and Dorian is my Bff forevs. I like Solas at times too, but he's also dull unless paired with dorian, sera, or vivienne.
