Needs more subtlety. Sounds like a copy/paste of Lorkhan bro.
Lorkhan had his heart ripped out and was cast aside. The world then was made by the sacrifice of the gods, willing or no. In a plot to become the Godhead. This is opposite.
I think the maker chose to do this like the chantry suggested almost, but at the cost of his life of course. If the fade's his mind, then no spirit could have the complexity to feel like a real person, because they're reflections of his will. But if he gave away that will and separated it, they'd all have enough to have that creativity needed to truly be alive. That's why people have a connection to the fade, they all used to be of one mind. But when they die, they obviously return to his mind and lose themselves.
That's why demons seek to reach the mortal world. And why the fade wlll likely reunite with it someday as Sendal hinted. The Maker is a god and can't truly die. When everyone dies and is reclaimed by the fade, the maker will be return and be reborn.
If it sounds too Lorkhany, I don't mind. I love lorkhan
And regardless I think this is a really cool idea. The Maker giving up himself for the company of others. Pretty depressing.
