Even then I think that relies on who you put in charge.  Cassandra is a lot more likely to take a hands off approach then rule by force like Lei and Viv would.  Especially Viv.  And remember this is the Middle Ages the Office of the Pope, in the real world, was VERY powerful.  The Divine's death in the beginning of the game caused the whole world to run around sqauwking.

It's not just the Divine's death that did that, but the number of clerics. The Chantry lost options.

And now we have options.

I doubt Cassandra will take secret lovers or bend the rules like Leliana, that is not her.

Cass is to honest and prideful for that kind of relationship. Sure, no doubt she still has feeling for inquisitor but I think that all it is (unless Mr. Gaider got any ideas)

Agreed.

And as time goes on, you're not going to even know who she is anymore. Her priorities will be different, her days different, the people she associates with different, even her name will be different! One day you'll finally get to talk, and she'll just be a stranger.

At best, she won't change... but it'll still suck. And you'll be pining away from a distance like Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights.

All for the so called "greater good". lol. Commence the self-flogging. Religion, guilt, and self-sacrifice is so awesome! I just can't get enough of this.

Sorry for the rant btw.

If anything, I'm taking out real feelings on the game. I already deal with this sense of guilt and duty from real religion. I have a love/hate relationship with it all.

It's on topic, so it's perfectly fine.

I'm not. You're probably right. My Inquisitor doesn't have game. He's not exactly full of confidence.

But we all have our faults. Yours is hygiene. ;)

This is why Leliana is divine in my games. Her goals are exactly what I want and I get to keep Cass by my side. I don't think I could handle the break-up.

Pff, you assume because he's got a godly beard and the chest hair of a caveman that he smells like one too?

Ask Obvious_Shining. He knows my Inquisitor gets plenty of baths....

It's funny.. I'm reminded of the first convo with Leliana. She's pretty pissed off about all the sacrifice too. She kind of resents the Maker, even while praying to him.

Cass has similar sentiments, but she isn't pissed. She just accepts that he isn't that kind.

I'm just not interested in having a pope girlfriend, whether I was there or not.

Exactly what demographic was begging for this one?

Yea having Cass as Divine is the definition of bitter sweet to me , her goals mimic mine to a T but im fine with having Vivienne on the sunburst throne as a back up since her ideas are not too far off Cassandra's, Leiliana however is a no no.

You think about power, even as a Cass-romancer? Seems like an odd fit. I think the Morrigan romance was in DAO. :P

Besides, her ideals are kind of populist. Same with Leliana, but not to the same extreme.

oh, that's just cruel, i love it :P

Oddly enough having an Inquisitor who looks just like Regalyan makes the romance better. It certainly provides a little more explanation why she's not entirely comfortable with the idea of the Inquisitor courting her at first, and why she brings up her past during the romance scene, at least on a meta level.

But still, that would be a pretty big shock for Cass to find that her old flame (or someone who looks very similar) might be behind the Conclave's destruction.

It might just be me, but I feel that the office of Divine is the best place to put Vivienne. I don't trust her, but on the Sunburst Throne she's in a highly visible position. Remember, the only reason she didn't get ousted after her election is because of the Inquisition and we've most likely have a list of her opponents and enough secrets and allies to topple her should her gratitude start to wane. She's not going to go Borgia on our watch.

Besides, I highly doubt that Cassandra would let Vivienne do anything that would sully the Chantry's good name, and given her reputation I don't think anyone would argue with her.

I wouldn't say my Inquisitor looks like him, but he's a tweak on the default (brown hair, grey eyes), but better face. The resemblance to Reglayan can be played on that alone, but it coicidental.. just a Caucasian with brown hair.

I don't think Regalyan is so stuck in her mind though. It was 20 years ago. And it wasn't even like one of those relationships you see where Templars/mages stay a couple over a long time. And if they did mean this to be that important, then that sucks. They should give players a chance to be their own person in this romance, instead of screwing with them like this. What fun is that?

This whole exercise was more of a "I wonder if I could make X character in the CC?" than anything else. I should also make a John Cleese Inquisitor who dresses in all red for that Spanish Inquisition flavor.

Good idea. Although it was Michael Palin who played the main Inquisitor. :D

As much as I love Cassandra, I don't think she could keep Divine Viv from doing much of anything on her own.

Luckily, she wouldn't be alone.

What was the nature of Cassandra's relationship with Regalyan anyway? Was it some recurring thing they had going over the years or something? Because that kiss on the cheek hardly qualifies as being with someone(well ok it may for Cassandra). And if it was something more significant, then there is a disturbing lack of reaction to his death. I mean she brings up Divine's death multiple times, is not willing to to talk about her brother's fate immediately, but has nothing to say about that and is not troubled by it in the slightest? Strange indeed.

It was a fling when she was young, as far as I can tell. She refers to him as something she associates when she was young, rather than current. It sounds like they became friends at best. A continuing romance would be impractical at the time. Even moreso than a Templar/mage relationship.

There is a Varric and Cassandra Banter where she says what they had was fleeting at best, so who know how serious they were

I think even on a friend level, he's probably still important. It didn't seem like she had many friends. She had her mentor Byron, and her brother. Regalyan was a nice guy... maybe she got swept up in it for a moment. Just not enough for a real romance. Don't we all know people like that?

She just had a little Fade Fever. Common among Templars and Mages, lol. Guess it's the same for Seekers too.
