I think he helped her get over resentment at mages.. so for that, I'll be grateful. She could have been another Meredith.

yea, I had that thought many of time, wonder if Cass ever thought on it after learning what Meredith did.

It's just the way she talks about him and when makes it sound like Cory took one very important guy from her and he's not taking another. That sort of put him on the same level as inquisitor. At least it seemed that way to me. Hence why I was surprised by her overall indifference to his passing. Not that I would want this romance to turn into "helping Cassandra get over previous lover's death". Hell no.

I guess I can see how you construed it that way, but she's more focused on Cory taking the Inquisitor. The reason I thought she mentions it is mostly to talk about her relationship experience. Or lack thereof. The same way Alistair does.

From the sound of it what they had was in the past, but they were still pretty close friends. It probably hurts quite a bit, but Cassandra's sadly used to losing people she cares about at this point. I kind of took it as Cassandra not allowing Corypheus or anyone else take the Inquisitor from her as long as she has anything to say about it.
I thought she was going to kill my Inquisitor after he decided to drink from the well, or at least yell at him for being an idiot.

So, mostly a lurker in these forum, but yeah, Cass is by far my favourite character of the DA franchise. Anyways, haven't even finished my first playthrough, but already created a male rogue to romance her specifically.
Anyways, here are a few screenies from my first ongoing playthrough.

Did they change it?
I started Ideal Romance before finishing either HLTA or WEWH. I only needed to do the Creswood part to unlock Cassandra's personal quest, finishing it which unlock the romancing locking cutscene which unlock Ideal Romance.
Really? I've been spending 2 hours looking for your comment T_T Thank you so much! Off to Creswood then! But just to clarify, do I have to start Here lies the abyss to get Cass' personal quest? I'd prefer to avoid HLTA completely and start Wicked Eyes and Hearts first.

i think it's either approval or the next main quest line to trigger it, i'm not sure which

I think you need a certain level of approval to do it. For my first roll of my Cass-romancing inquisitor, he made decisions that she disagreed with a lot in the first quests. I had to finish her companion fetch quest (kill rogue mages and templars) to get her approval up. After that, I was able to trigger her romance. On my 2nd roll, I tried different things which apparently she agreed with a lot. Managed to trigger her seeker side quest real early. After finishing that, her romance quest was triggered. It's interesting to note that I haven't even done her kill rogue mages and templars quest.

I like that Cassandra has to trust you enough to ask for a personal favor. Sounds right.

Not sure how much better though. I'm not sure if she loves the Inquisitor more or believes in him more. Or if that's the same thing.

Lol yea but I remember dem feels. Ha, I would have actually avoided some of those flirt options, but I wanted to make sure the romance went through. Sometimes the flirting just feels... dismissive, I guess. Like she's trying to say something meaningful and you just kinda ruin the moment, lol.

I think the dialogue in general is trying to do that, honestly. Happens all the time with everyone.

I haven't noticed this with Cassandra.
Except once. There's one moment when asking about her story rescuing the divine.. if you force the flirt dialogue, it is kind of abrupt. You'll get approval if you ask about what happened to the mages who helped her. She appreciates it (probably because of Galyan dying..although she doesn't say that). Then flirt.
I like that though. It means you listen.

Passing by just to say Cassandra is the best. Hope the next games treat her with all the respect she deserves as the new Divine (in my game at least).
