Perhaps I need to step back..

The games work on many levels..

It's just when people start thinking of ideal playthroughs, I start getting antsy.. Sorry about that. I have a love/hate thing with sacrifice, duty, religion.. all of that stuff.

But anyways, I see my HN story as the downfall of a man. He's a fraud. I only wish Cass and the Inquisitor could kill his sorry ass. And Morrigan too.

So. Cassandra's accent. I know it's been discussed six ways to Sunday, but has there been a general consensus on what Miranda Raison was aiming for (besides made-up, I mean)?

Well, yes.  It's still an RPG after all.  But the tracks are laid for a redemption are for the PC, assuming the origins fit.  There nothing really in the Mage or Elf origins that lends to that, however.  Probably why I didn't gravitate to them.

(Edit: That and because humans rock)

City Elf/Dwarf commonoer and Magi works for me in a kind of... "this guy/girl deserves more out of life" level. Someone who doesn't need to die, for sure. For mages, it depends how you handle Jowan as well.

I see him as the anti-Jowan personally. An elf who hooks up with Leliana (while Jowan has another redhead named Lily, who he ruins).

Dalish origin works best as sacrificial and self-redemptive IF you kill those humans in the beginning. Then you go through the rest of the game feeling bad. Especially after seeing Tamlen again.

Dwarf Noble is an arrogant ass who redeems himself later.

IMO Prussian? LOL not that I'd know what a Prussian accent sounds like.

All I know is that Cassandra's fake accent is one of the sexier to come out of a Bioware game.

From what I understand, she said it was supposed to be ambiguous way back in some DA2 interview. Could've sworn I read that long ago.

Just rolled a Dalish 2H warrior out of frustration (cause Sutherland died and I lost ten hrs). How should I spec Rajmael?

Don't know what it is, but it has the same effect Velvet Velour's has on me.

Get combat roll asap. It's bread and butter, along with block and slash. Don't bother tanking. They're more fun when highly mobile.

10/10, these are my favorite interpretations, as well. Except my Dalish was more self-destructive and miserable than self-sacrificing.

Me neither, I'm afraid.

LOL, I am in no position to judge, my accent is ridiculous.

Just make sure you have war cry, bull rush and unbound for guard, and the rest is up to you I say.

And don't worry about aggro, if you're combat rolling around, they won't get at you anyway. They'll just run into your massive AOE damage.

This guy talks like he wants to tank. :P The complete opposite of my advice.

It works too. I just wait until later levels to flesh those things out.

I like combat roll on Iron Bull, great for flanking. I'll probably pick that up.

Also if you're focusing on dps first, then upgrade Mighty Blow and get coup de grace (think that's the correct name. the +dmg while enemies are knocked down). Don't be too tempted by Whirlwind right away. It's OK, but not really that necessary yet.

Na I don't tank, but I don't like Witcher 2ing it either ;) Basically, you're gonna get hit. Things like demons and dragons, hard to evade, and you get punished for it if you're on anything above normal. So for me, guard is a must. Less necessary when you get some fade touched obsidian, but still.

I just used these abilities as a safety net in other words. Just like how I used the lightning cloak with evade on Witcher 2.

Yeah, I know.. I start wanting Guard sooner or later. I just don't think I need it much in that early run through lvl 10 in the Hinterlands and such. And even then, I find that my winning strategy against major asskickers is combat roll. Like the Avvar tribal leader. Best not getting hit at all by that guy.

The real question is Chevalier, Templar, or Reaver? And which would fit a quick dps Dalish?

Very true, the dynamic changes entirely without a shield. I let cass or cass and blackwall take all the aggro, and jump in with aoe's before running off to avoid the monster swings.

Tough choice. Reaver is best for 2h, but I hate it RP wise. It's for sick bastards. :P

At the same time, it's dull gaming wise. You don't even need active abilities much as a Reaver. It's like DA2.. more about basic attacks.

I did just fine with reaver, but I think champion works amazingly well with this too. Gives you the much needed defense to go along with your badass offense. I ended up staying with champion and got rid of the reaver saves when I tried it out.
