I'm in San Antonio... well outside of it.
Eyyy, small world. I'm north of DFW.

Damn I'd have guessed Kentucky. Being a Colonel and all.
Actually I did live there for three years ![]()
I was born in germany on an army base, went to france for a bit while we were there, went back and forth between germany and South Carolina when my parents had leave, before we finally left for good, then I lived with my mother in Kentucky, and eventually settled in SC for good at the age of 8.

Ah cool. Military brat here too. Was born in Hawaii originally (air force base).

Cool. I'd rather be there than here. Gets too hot down here..

So you're a military brat? That explains so much..... ![]()

I'm curious as to what
But yea, I'm an army brat. Even so young I remember all the moving around n' ****.
And I remember saying "Mommy, my pee pee tickles!" on the plane. Needless to say, she was embarrassed, lolol.

I don't know that it's much better up here.
I've only been down thataways once (in San Antonio proper), but it was lovely.
Compared to San Antonio, anything's better.. it's cold right now, but it won't last for long. And I feel like I'm bred to like the cold.. so it doesn't really suit me. DFW at least has snow and more moderate summers.
Also, the only people I know who I play pnp RPGs with live there now. I'm all alone in my geekiness. ![]()

Well, I was going to sling stereotypical insults at you but since someone else on here is one also, that would just be in bad taste. ![]()
Plus, there aren't actually any bad stereotypes.

Sling away. Would love to hear that.
I'm not as flighty as some brats... I have a little more grounding, I think. ![]()

I'm still participating in a Skyrim rpg, though it's slowed down a good deal. Our group still talks though and still posts, but not as much. It's depressing seeing people move on to new interests, but that's life.

Well, Street Magic and I are also both biracial. Makes sense since race means little to anyone in the military. I didn't really have issues with race all that much until I got here. Then it was a lot different. In the military, everyone had the same houses n' ****, they were all next to each other, the neighborhoods were safe so we could stay out real late and walk around wherever we wanted. That's how a childhood should be. I missed it a lot when we had to leave. Still do.
Oh, stereotypes. So, biracial? I guess, lol, and also, I don't have an accent.

Yes, military culture and family friends are really cool for mixed race kids and groups.. that's one thing military has up on everyone.

Listen, Conan and Spirit Fingers, I came here to tease not for a damn lesson on the lifestyle of a military brat. ![]()
Ahmm, anyway. *tugs on collar* Those military brats--sooooooooo patriotic. Yeah, bet that cuts the two of you deep.....
I told you, there are no insults to be had!
Guest_StreetMagic_*
lol.. hardly patriotic. From an early age that caused problems. Like my dad would get pissed when I didn't stand for the national anthem or something at ball games. He wanted me to join the military as I got older, but I just rebelled more and more.. and became a burnout, stooge drug addict/gangster/skateboarder ![]()
And by the time I got my head out of my ass, I had too much of a police record and mental health history to enter the military anyways. And even if I did, I'd probably fight and get my ass kicked by a drill seargeant...then booted forever.
hope that clears it up ![]()

lololol too bad, that's whatcha got! lol I felt like reminiscing on the good ol' days.
That said, I am very very patriotic. Though some people might disagree depending on their politics, lol.

You guys stand for the national anthem at sports events? My country is so lazy.
Ah so that's where we're different
Could also be because where we are. South Carolinians tend to be patriotic and proud.

You also keep voting for Lindsey Graham. Wtf is wrong with that place? ![]()

Soooo, do you eat a lot of grits?

Her competition was some lame ass lawyer dude with absolutely no experience. His entire campaign was shaming her, calling her a **** and blah blah. As much as I didn't like the Mitt Romney puppet, I'm not voting for someone like that.
Actually, I didn't vote at all because I hated the choices, but I wasn't upset she won. Kinda expected it, South Carolina's voting pattern is incredibly predictable.

Used to at my great grandpa's house. Good eats with eggs and bacon. I like them a little more solid than other people that prefer it runny. I don't like taking forever to eat my food, so that's the main reason. Good wholesome grain.

I think you'll find that military kids (and cop's kids) go to either extreme. Gung ho or completely rebellious.

I have no idea what grits are.
Wait, can you make gumbo? Is that a thing in South Carolina?

Gumbo is more of a cajun thing (New Orleans/Louisiana).

Well, I've eaten several different dishes referred to as "gumbo" and have come to the conclusion that it's just a clusterfuck of **** that tastes awesome together. I've had gumbo dumplings for instance, which is black and red berries cooked over dough to make these delicious.... things... that ... I don't know what the **** it is but it's awesome.
Then there's seafood gumbo.
