Hardened Cassandra would probably be a few steps away from Meridith. There's current Cassandra who still has the anger from her early days but she knows when and where to use it, but a more ruthless Cass could be downright scary.

Now I know what Cassandra has been reminding me of!

 

The Seeker Eye (particularly the one on the sword hilt) keeps reminding me of the sheikah eye from the Legend of Zelda. It's more obvious on the sword pommel, where the hilt becomes the teardrop.

 

The Sheikah Eye was most notably on Sheik, another quasi-midieval fantasy enforcer of a group with a secretive and mysterious reputation. And Sheik was a distinctly pretty guy... until you realized that 'he' was a 'she.'

 

 

 

It's not a resemblance between characters, but the passing resemblence of symbols (the mystical eye), role (secretive/mysterious enforcers of The Authority), and gender-vagueness (mixing masculine and feminine cues).
