Technically Mages aren't nobility.
Not that you probably don't know that.
Codex says I'm a noble. Stop trying to kill my vibe, bish. Technicalities are for poor plebs.

Spoiler
Nuthin wrong with a little jungle fever, LOLOLOL
You're right.
But that isn't jungle fever. It's just some lame race DG made to fill out a quota. He was tasked to make a setting with standard fantasy trappings. Someone must've allowed him to create a new race.. and it's terrible.

Denial of the traditions of your people does not qualify as a political technicality!!

Mages have titles. It's just incredibly rare and definitely the exception to the rule. If Magi Trevelyan can go home and chill with his family on summer vacation, then he's a noble.

It's not like you stop being a noble if you're a mage, you just can't inherit anything because of that. Like that poor kid Connor from Redcliffe (ah, Redcliffe, there's always some magical **** going on down there
).

You know you're right. I get the point now. And basically, Josie treats us as such.

Mages aren't really people, so how can they really be noble?

I just differentiated that dialogue with Cass, because she doesn't give the same approval as a mage. She's a little confused if you say you don't care to go back to somewhere.. I think she interprets as you wanting mage freedom. edit: just my guess. Maybe not.

I'm kind of bummed there was no transparent text underneath this.
Transparent text is fun.

Unless a giant magical bomb or a plague drops on Nevarra and kills all those other 70 something people in line for the throne I'm not seeing it. And she'd probably step aside for someone down the line anyway as she hates politics.
By the way is it a coincidence that neither Orlais, Ferelden or Nevarra has a clear successor to their respective thrones? None of the current rulers have children or named a successor among the family members.
Anybody see King Ralph?
It could happen.
Besides, the divine job is just as political as the monarch job, so I don't think the political nature of the job would, ipso facto, be a deal breaker.

Why do you think mages all wear those sissy bathrobes and frilly ****, all dressed up like a spring chicken for sunday dinner? They're prettying up the apartment for the awaiting new owner.

LOL you should make an Avvar thread where all you talk about is lobbing goat's blood at people and laugh at how they can string letters and words together to form coherent sentences. I would support.

Cassandra has an ambient dialog wondering about that in the game when you are in Redcliff.
