Actually Lucius was trying to recruit Cassandra and she said **** this and unsheathed her sword and cut his ass up.

Was he? I though he was just stalling for time considering all the Red Templars around and is orders were "kill all the Seekers", or at least that came off like that to me. Although, I do remember Cassandra starting the fight.

I can't believe before the game came out, I thought Lady Pentaghast was going to be this non-stop angry woman. I want to thank David Gaider for this beautiful written character.

Exactly. There's quite a leap from becoming disheartened with your order to willingly be an accomplish in mass-murder, treason and trying to bring about the end of the world. I think my old post sums it up.

Well... that's the Seekers for you.

Consider how its even possible for an organization like the Promisers to keep popping up time and time again. I don't think Lucius was the first Lord Seeker to be driven completely mad after reading the book.

Lucius's behavior certainly didnt make any sense but since every other faction had been been painted as dysfunctional , it was the seeker's turn , they should have gone about it a different way for sure.

I know I'm about to get massacred for this... But just a bit of advice for Cassandra's armor: Keep her in her classic or trench coat armor. The Warden, Orlesian, Inquisition, and Heavy Adventurer warrior armors make her look really WIERD. And I know why: It's the neck. Without the "ruff," she looks like her neck is a twig ready to snap. Luckily her off-duty garb has the basic armor mesh.

I don't know about the neck thing, but I do agree she should always be in her special armor. That's a rule for all the characters for me, including myself.

Only person I don't mind wearing other stuff is Varric.

The Inquisition uses only the finest arms and armor:

Cassandra hates you for that!  :P

Seeing Lucius walk up the the chantry lady and allow his man to bop her on the head, didn't cause me to want to recruit his group anymore than I wanted to recruit the mages. Everybody is crazy and Lucius had really bad skin...sort of darkspawn-y. You know he had to be a bad guy, with skin like that.  :)

BTW, I think Cass is beautiful.

lol.. bad skin, yeah. That's as good a reason as any to dislike him.

Yeah, even though my dude is a mage and getting lambasted, he's like "Wtf? What are you punching out Chantry mothers for?"

I thought Lucius was a raving lunatic the moment I met him. I LOL'd when the Mother got decked, but still. First time through I thought the Templars were a lost cause. The only time I went to Therinfall (which is pretty damn far from Haven and the Breach) was on my 'Loyalist' run. And even then it was about subverting Fiona and not the Rebellion.

In a certain light, everyone comes off a bit loony. Everyone is trying to prop up their own rivals to the Chantry. Inquisition included. Lucius sees another rival. And that whole scene changed when I played a mage especially.  I loved it. Lucius and the Mother react to the class in neat ways. On my warrior, it came off like they were pissed for no reason. But I can see why Roderick thought Cass was crazy at first. In this light, she looks very heretical.. and very courageous.

Here here.  I was thinking they could have gone two ways with the character.  The way they went.  Or...well the way they could have gone with it and the way you seem to indicate.  There was inclings of greatness, but heck I was still pretty worried and cautious of the character.  But not only did they go the first way, and create a very deep character, but the execution is near flawless.

I loved the character already.. it's the DAI version that I'm struggling a little with. She's still great, but her faith is more up in the air now. If I think of all the combos of what the Inquisitor can be, Cassandra is too openminded for her own good. She and the Inquisition can get used, and Andrastianism mocked, depending on the player. This is why she wonders if she'll be remembered as a fool or madwoman. She also has more self-doubt, sometimes feelings of worthlessness (when she realizes Varric lied). It's hard to see.

About the romance... do you always have to choose the love option in the dialogue to make sure it will happen later on?

Are there any moments when you absolutely must do it?

Yeah Varric is a bit of a ***** to her throughout the game. She tries to put the old issues behind even to comfort him if Hawke dies and he's just unwilling to reconcile. I don't expect them to be bffs of course, but still he really didn't have to act the way he did all the time. And what did he expect anyway, that she would prostrate herself and beg for forgiveness? lol

Despite the cynicism she shows, deep down she wants to think the best of people. She's been losing people close to her pretty much since she's been born and has seen the worst that Thedas has to offer, but she still gets back up and continues on with the hope that the Maker's plan will lead to better days to come.

With Varric...well, if the Divine's Right Hand drags you into interrogation when there's the threat of a crusade getting called on your city because they're hunting your best friend what would you do? DA2's banter establishes that Varric will lie, cheat, and resort to other shady means to protect his friends. He was expecting Cassandra to drag Hawke off to be executed, not potentially offer him the chance to become the leader of a paramilitary group. He's also got a lot of self-loathing going on, since Corypheus' escape, Red Lyrium on the surface, the Venatori getting their hands on it, and by extension a fair bit of what happened in Kirkwall can be traced back to him.

Cassandra already said to him that she need Hawke to stop the conflict because s/he is respected. I don't remember any dialogs in DA2 that lead me to think she gonna bring harm to Hawke.

Either writers retcon this part or Varric simply paranoid.

Perhaps some of you don't run with both Cassandra and Varric in the latter part of the game but by that point they are pretty much friends, they still smack talk from time to time but they care about one another. The banters are up on YouTube if you think I'm making it up.
