Cassandra seems to be the only party member to fully command the respect of Sera besides the Inquisitor. Right there, that speaks volumes on how badass she is.
And yeah Sera talking about Cassandra punching bears is just epic LOL.
As to the recent discussion involving DA:O starters... the city elf origin definitely had a lot of depth to it. As another said, I did feel a bit detached but I believe it was primarily due to the fact I was already biased towards my main warden. However, two Bioware characters I choose over the Warden (whom I choose over Hawke), are Commander Shepard and the Inquisitor. The Inquisitor has that Shepard's luck oozing out which makes for an awesome & exciting character.

Apparently I need to pair those two up more often, that does sound like it would be epic to hear. I love Sera's character, but often took Varric as my archer, cause reasons.
edit to add: I love that even though I've got over 600hrs logged in SP and there's still stuff I haven't seen or heard. ![]()

Speaking of DA1s origins.
I hope Bioware will go back to more slow-paced intros. I am sick of this new obsession with these inane intros that rushes you into action. ME2/3 and DA2/3 all have these fast paced "epic" intros and all of them were awful for one reason or another. For once I would like to be able to walk around talk for 22 minutes like I could in the city elf origin before the drama starts.

Oh, yes, definetly take Sera along for banter with Cassandra, it's mostly golden. I especially loled about "Andraste's hairy eyeball", bear punching, Cassansra's many names after the ball, and some trio banter combos with Blackwall and Iron Bull (inquisibutt, lol).
Also, there are some very interesting banters with Cass and Cole.
And,btw, Sera's a better archer in late game, cuz Bianca's stuck on lower quality upgrades.

ME3 has the only awful intro out of those listed. The others are at least passable. That said, I agree.

I know I am in the minority when it comes to what I think about the ME2 intro.

I know what you mean. We're learning in school right now that the opening should grab the viewer attention, making them want more. Sadly, slow beginnings in my class cause bad grades.

It's tragic.
While I can like a fast-paced intro that throws the player into the fire right at the beginning, such as Half Life : Opposing Force for example, that game has one of my favorite intros of all time. I do love the intros that take their time to establish the setting, like the original Half Life.

You're comparing the original Half-Life (the first game in the series which HAS to set up the universe and locations and characters) to an expansion released after the original game, using many of the same assets as the original game, in an already-established universe.
... A sequel or expansion or whatever that takes place in the same place as the original shouldn't be expected to set everything back up, because it's understood that people are already aware of what's going on. If ME2 had another 45-minute exposition dump like ME1 did during the first Citadel sequence, I'd have returned the game and never looked back.

o.o Cassandra seems to eventually let go of Varric's betrayal but I doubt she ever trusted him again.
She trusts him enough to tell him about Galyan and how he died at the Conclave. That's a decent level of trust right there.

Yea, they are friends. We all have our ups and downs with friends, occasionally.

Yep, I agree. I'd just say by the end of the game, there's definitely evidence that there's some level of trust between them.

It's not clear. If you don't break up with her, the romance tarot card stays the same, suggesting you're still romancing her. Supposedly.

In Game Informers top 50 games of 2014, they have a small aside saying top 10 characters, Cassandra is noted as number four. they say "Whether you're looking for a solid combatant, a moral compass, or a reliable second-in-command, Cassandra has you covered. She may not be in charge of the Inquisition, but she did co-found it, setting the stage for all of the player's heroic actions"

Is it? Or is it merely offering context.
It isn't mentioned until three conditions are met, Cassandra herself tells the pc, Cole brings him up and Varric badgers her.
That sounds more him harassing her then her sharing anything.

She only do so because she asked questions about the real Bianca first... and Varric rebounded the question to her and then felt guilty about doing so by her answer.

Nope , she tells him about it because she asked him about his love life first then retaliated by asking her about hers .
By the end of the game their relationship seems to be good, their banters between the two of them is testament to that.

These events happen mutually exclusive, Cole doesn't talk about it if your romancing Cassandra, which is the only time she talks about it, so yeah. Not true.
