New Cassandra article was posted up on the Game Informer website:
http://www.gameinfor...nquisition.aspx
Nothing too exciting, mostly just speculation by the author of what he believes Cassandra will bring to the table in Inquisition. Probably most interesting are a couple of brief quotes from Gaider and Laidlaw about her:
"To some degree, I think that Cassandra undergoes probably the biggest transformative arc of any character in Dragon Age II." - Laidlaw
"She wasn't just investigating; there was more behind what she was doing. You find that out as the Inquisition comes around." - Gaider

She's the Hero of Orlais and Right Hand of the Divine, if she came out and said that she thought that there was a person or a group of people manipulating events behind the scenes they'd call her crazy. Varric on the other hand has seen a lot of strange things over the past decade so if anyone would believe Cassandra it would be him.
The blast at the Temple of Sacred Ashes would vindicate her theory...but the Inquisitor as far as we know has nothing to do with it. Refounding the Inquisition gives them a chance to not only seal the breach but also a chance to get to the bottom of things.

After replaying DA2 I was looking forward to having her be a romance option, but after seeing what they have done with her model I am less enthused. Did they ever explain why they had to ugly her up? Do they not like having beautiful woman use armor? seems a strange choice to make.

It always nice to have an opinion
You says she ugly, I say she fine, others see no difference aside from battle scars

I don't think she's ugly, but I will admit she looks uglier than da2. But that probably has something to do with her getting even older and she was all ready at least in her 30's during da2.After replaying DA2 I was looking forward to having her be a romance option, but after seeing what they have done with her model I am less enthused. This blog entry by Casper Konefal explains why she looks the way she does.
The whole entry is great, but here's the most relevant excerpt:
I designed not through the eye of the beholder, compiling massive reference sheets of beautiful people and picking features I found appealing. Instead I decided to look through the lens of the narrative, and find their hook. I just found beauty too subjective, too mushy too, too, well lets just say I didn't find it adequate. Luckily for me a lot of the talented people at Bioware believe in narrative so it wasn't a hard sell to change the thinking and discussion away from "do I like what that looks like" to "does that visually say what we want".
In the above example of Cassandra. Her hook is her power and authority. So then the trick was merely to use visual language to tell that story. I no longer had to justify what I thought was attractive. Her face became all about her aggression. Through the angle of her facial structure to the angle of her ears. It all became about giving her a strong aggressive forward visual flow. Rather than picking this nose and that mouth, I started designing her feeling not her beauty.

In DA2 Cassandras eyes were big and warm. In DA:I they SEEM to be hard and dark.
I still think she looks good just a bit colder. ![]()

Actually her in DA2 takes place the same year as DAI, 9:40 Dragon. Just different engine.

as far as im concerned, i just see it as an update in graphics or their design, kind of like the change from origins to da 2, everything had a more cartoony feel to it in da 2... just another change in art style with a love for manly jaw lines on female characters

Meh. It might be because of my hate of how DA2 engine/lightning made the faces look like, but. I didn't like much her DA2 model.

This shot is pretty old and blurry but I love her with the heavier armor.
Spoiler
It reminds me how excited I am to have a female warrior LI for once
That looks cool. Definitely, the option to change armors and try different combinations is appealing. Especially since armors will change depending on the characters' look.

Hi everyone, sorry if this has already been posted here, but this threat is a bit to long for me to scan throught to find the information, and I haven't posted anything years.I know Cassandra is a confirmed LI, but has there been anything stating whether se will be an LI for a female inquisitor? I know that on her anime, some people mentioned she had a fling with a male character, so I am not sure ( or she could be bi). Thanks for the update ![]()

I doubt they will.
You'll probably have to wait for leaks to happen close to game release (when all the heavy spoilers start coming out).
I wouldn't get my hopes up super high.

I seriously doubt they won't announce that information. They announced it for both other games after all. But I think what will come first is the confirmation of the other LIs.

They announced the LIs but not gender availability.
I remember finding out that Leliana was an f/f option from a leaked Prima Guide image.
DA2's 'all bisexual' info came from leaks.
