It's anime. Just assume it's a telling of the exaggerated version of her story. Makes things like Cass and Regalyan facing an army of ogres and golems more believable.

You will need to meet the warden in Crestwood, which will trigger her personal quest after you have completed that little part.

Here Lies the Abyss can be played a little bit before going through the main story. Go to crest wood then go to western approach but don't go to adamant.
