Yes, the dialogue goes smth like this:

Inquisitor: If anything, I'm guided by you (It's a flirt option)

Cassandra: Oh, excellent, the blind leading the blind.

Inquisitor: I don't think you're blind.

Cassandra: Clearly you haven't been paying attention.

Inquisitor: Haven't I?

So, that last line is what she always says, or are there differences if you've allied with the templars? Also are there any differences in the rest of the cutscene if you've allied with them?

It's not any different from what I know of.

That was pretty much word for word what I got when allying with the Templars or conscripting the Mages. So I don't think there is any difference in the response to the flirt option there.

Oh well, ok then. I was only asking because of that gif:

I don't remember her saying this, maybe some dialogue option I didn't choose or smth.

I'll load up one of my saves near there and see if I cannot find where she says it. I thought she says it towards the end of the conversation but I could be mistaken.

Hmmm Gif may be able to verify this for me, but I experimented and could not get it to pop. So I did some quick searching and I am under the impression that line will only pop for a female quizzy.

The whole line being along the lines of “think of it: like Andraste long ago, once again the fate of Thedas will be determined by a woman. it makes me proud to know you.” or it could just be part of a scene after the what guides you scene that I haven't reached yet *shrugs*

That line is trying trying way too hard. Especially when the most powerful person in the world at any given time is always a woman.

You're going to pick on that line in particular? Give me enough time and I could pick out hundreds of lines in the game that are hokier and more contrived.

Well that line was the one that was brought up in conversation...

And please don't, lol. Do we really need to ****** and moan about how Cassandra didn't stroke the male inquisitor's ego enough?

I love that line. Especially on my mage. He's been locked up all his life.. he was younger during the blight and got shot down when he got all enthusiastic about trying to convince Ostwick Circle to prepare for war.. He always wanted to help in crisis. Old age finally got to him and he just resigned to non stop training and grumpiness. Cass is the first person (non mage at least) to put a lot of faith in him... the kind of thing he'd pray about all of those days in the past.

As for being powerful, he doesn't know what to make of it. This isn't a PUA forum, where I have to act like I'm super confident with a 10 foot long dick. He doesn't have low confidence either.. but being in the Circles did humble him..there's a bit of self-hate and criticism going on.

She better leave my ego alone, she can stroke the beard, that is all.

The other bit I like about that convo is when she finishes off about the Maker choosing well. I like saying "I don't know if I deserve that. Who knows where I'll lead this."

I definitely don't want to play a mage who thinks he's right all the time. I'd just end up like Envy's version from the Templar quest. The Inquisition is potentially dangerous as it is. Actually liking the power will just make it worse.

Oops. Lol.

But, that's just a mage problem. Everyone knows mages can't handle real power without letting a demon or something slip inside them.

On a serious note (I'm dead serious though, really. Can't you tell?) I forgot what the other dialogue choices are in that exchange. I don't take that one though. I like to stay certain and sure of myself, even if my character isn't. Play the role as much as possible.

Demons aren't the problem there. It's just the ego itself. A mage drunk on power is more dangerous than most.. even if it doesn't reflect gameplay wise. Demons are more of a risk when stressed or lacking Willpower.

But anyways.. the dialogue works in multiple ways.. I like it. But if someone tells me I should simply play confidently, just because that's "manly" or something.. they can suck my dick.

I don't think the approval is messed up though, she agrees with keeping the Templar Order as a symbol over disbanding everything they symbolised but as a Seeker her role is to sort out Templars that fail in their duties, thus she is frustrated that they won't be taken to task. It would make it feel like she or the Seekers failed. That is my take on it anyhow, accounting for her pragmatism.

This is why I don't like the choice being interpreted as "Disband" over "Conscript", which is closer to the truth.

Which all mages do of course.

I wonder, does anyone here actually see themselves becoming a tyrant after this and specifically choose those douchebaggy dialogue options for that? Like when you're doing your inquisitor speech for instance.

LOL...

Definitely wasn't going to say that... My character simply does it to keep everyone's confidence and to keep the morale.

No, not you. Just saying in general. I find that kind stuff tiresome.

I understand what you mean about your character. It's important, for sure. This is kind of how Vivienne advises btw.

Indeed. Cass mentioned she thought I should heed her advise, so that I did. Though I planned on doing that anyway. Still, nice when the people you like agree.

I don't do this when talking to Sera about the elven gods though. Not that it invalidates anything, but being open to other beliefs when evidence is presented is something that comes natural. I have absolutely no means of being so closeminded like her, lol, so it's rather amusing hearing her call my character "elfy". smh

That's my favorite trait about Sera.

I think people will find confidence either way though, regardless of appearances. They believe you're the Herald.

That she has a giant scar down her face and is basically the only LI for straight male characters.

I felt obligated to scar up my own character because of her.

But not overly so. I've seen some characters with the whole face scarred. With tattoos to boot. That's just tragic.

I've always put scars on my character. Even the archers and mages who never get hit in combat. Usually one over the eye and a larger one down the Inquisitor's cheek. Not as deep as Cassandra's big cheek scar, but nearly so.

What I've never understood is how scars jibe with the concept of healing potions/healing magic. You can have a dragon rip you open from pelvis to sternum, and pop a potion, and everything is as good as new...but they can't fix scars?

I'm sure the gameplay's much different from the actual lore. I doubt potions are that effective. Not nearly. Or healing spells. Unless powerful bloodmagic.
