Honestly folks hating on Supes don't understand him. It's his strength of character and integrity (and inner conflict) that make him top dog. If it wasn't for Clark Kent, Earth would be a one nation dictatorship and Kal-El would be the ruler.

No I just don't care to understand him to be honest. He just bores me. I don't care for things like hercules or Beowulf either. My fav story of beowulf was the last one when he died and that one ***** turned out to be the one with the biggest balls of all his followers.

Yoo.

Nice! so i guess you're eagerly waiting for the Arkham Knight , i get the feeling that its going to be one of the worst ride for the Bat ever , they might even kill him off ( not likely but not off the table since they didnt hesitate to kill the Joker off )

While I can't say that I am a comic book fan or even a superman fan, I don't actually dislike the character like most of my friends do. I did see the All-star Superman  movie which I really liked.

My favorite stories with him are those where he is evil though, like the two parter "A better world" from the justice league series and the one from the animated series where Lois Lane accidently gets sent into the future and finds a version of him that joined up with Lex Luthor to protect Metropolis.

Jason Todd yo.

Both are Jason Todd, but the one from "Under the Hood" was badass, killed all drugs bosses, took control of drug trade, killed more bad guys, etc...
The one from Red Hood and the Outlaws is crap.

The Mountain that rides vs the Viper was better done in the book.

Same result, just a better fight.

Reading this thread from last night what I missed was certainly...enlightening.  I love you guys. :P  Best fan group ever.

On Krem I think......they...could have done a lot better with the execution.  They went with the 'controversy through confusion route' to the point I am not even sure what the heck they are.

And do not diss Jennifer Hale.  She is God's gift to voice acting.  And I will smite all the heatens who disagree.   \\

:P

I understand Superman just fine, I just hate his power set. He renders 3/4 the rest of the DCU invalid when he's involved in anything because he outclasses everyone who isn't another Kryptonian, Darkseid, or a multidimensional being. Not to mention that everything DC does that isn't a comic storyline is just another Superman (or Batman) piece, because Superman is TEH BEST EVAR!!1!one

Noooo. The Post New-52 media has been good about spreading the love around. And I get that flying bricks are hard to pitch because they're unkillable most of the time making it hard to worry about them. But Supes' shines because of the inner monologues. He wants to fit in. And it's really hard not to go Joseph Stalin when you can kill people with the flick or your pinky. Especially in world based on our own.

Every other New 52 series I see is either Batman, Superman, or Forever Evil (I hate that title). Also, bad Batman and Superman series, from what I've heard. I stopped giving a f**k about the N52 after the first Batman run and turning Lobo into Cloud from Final Fantasy. All of Superman's inner monologues are the same. "I'll never stoop to the level of the people I fight against" and "I have all this power and choose to stay good". Those are his 2 thoughts, 90% of the time.

I'm lolling at the "Limited romance options" thread. Apparently games being more "masculine" or having things stereotypically considered for "males" means game developers don't give a damn about female gamers. Like, lol. They brought up Witcher and brothels... Call me crazy, but if you make a game with a brothel and your protagonist is male... and its a mature game, you're gonna want to have that brothel with prostitutes you can bang, no? No one forces you to go to those nasty ass women and cough up the coin. "Why have brothels at all"  you ask? Why not? It's a mature game with a mature setting. Brothels are real after all.

That's like saying a movie game or book doesn't give a damn about males because the female protagonist has sex with dudes... Am I crazy or does that sound absolutely crazy? Guys play as women all the time, so why wouldn't females be able to enjoy playing as men? I already know they do, and Witcher has a lot of female fans, so no need to answer.

And if you're talking about gaming as a whole, sure, more games than not seem like they're more boyish... if you're one of those that fall for those male female stereotypes. The same ones that says football is only enjoyable for men, which is bullshit. And even so, how the developers choose to make their game is their decision. If they choose to make their game feel more masculine, then that's no different of a decision than Bioware choosing to make so many characters in DA 2 bisexual.

Seriously, it seems like people saying this kind of crap feed into stereotypes more than anyone else, which is ironic.

I'm more of a DCAU fan, since I grew up with the Batman and Superman cartoons. The comics continuity with the Old and New 52 is a mess, but to be fair Marvel isn't much better.

All of this has me picturing Cass debating the great comic controversies in the context of his serials:

Cassandra: Varric, you killed off the Knight-Captain!

Varric: But her partner became Knight-Captain to honor her memory. That's character development, Seeker.

Cassandra: Can't the Knight-Captain come back? They never found her body.

Varric: You have how you'd do it written down somewhere don't you?

Cassandra: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Varric: Uh-huh.
