I'm lolling at the "Limited romance options" thread. Apparently games being more "masculine" or having things stereotypically considered for "males" means game developers don't give a damn about female gamers. Like, lol. They brought up Witcher and brothels... Call me crazy, but if you make a game with a brothel and your protagonist is male... and its a mature game, you're gonna want to have that brothel with prostitutes you can bang, no? No one forces you to go to those nasty ass women and cough up the coin. "Why have brothels at all" you ask? Why not? It's a mature game with a mature setting. Brothels are real after all.
That's like saying a movie game or book doesn't give a damn about males because the female protagonist has sex with dudes... Am I crazy or does that sound absolutely crazy? Guys play as women all the time, so why wouldn't females be able to enjoy playing as men? I already know they do, and Witcher has a lot of female fans, so no need to answer.
And if you're talking about gaming as a whole, sure, more games than not seem like they're more boyish... if you're one of those that fall for those male female stereotypes. The same ones that says football is only enjoyable for men, which is bullshit. And even so, how the developers choose to make their game is their decision. If they choose to make their game feel more masculine, then that's no different of a decision than Bioware choosing to make so many characters in DA 2 bisexual.
Seriously, it seems like people saying this kind of crap feed into stereotypes more than anyone else, which is ironic.
I fear for the future of gaming to be honest , SJWs are popping out of every corner and devs are taking notice , soon political correctness will swallow up every inch of creativity devs might have for the sake of including everyone and not offending anyone , the former isnt bad by any means but the latter .............lets just say it doesnt look.
