I was just wondering if any of you guys are Star Citizen backers, seeing as we're all fans of another space game, and I wouldn't mind flying with you guys from time to time.
I'm wavion at the RSI site, too, and I'm a member of an exploration-focused organization called Tabula Stellarum.
Well, sounds pretty good for me, I liked to explore the edges of the space.
The problem is that I don't have much time lately. So I would play once a week, with luck. Is good to know that you are out there.

Hadn't thought to play it but playing with you guys would be fun. I just gotta get through this modding bit first; which is really fun. 5 people have been willing to throw out ideas and since they're pretty much all good I try to figure out how to do them.
Nope, not a backer. I am intending to buy the game when it's out though. it looks amazing and I am really looking forward to it (just not big on the whole kickstarter thing).
Not a backer, but the game looks super amazing. Unfortunately, there are two things in it that are problematic for me.
First, internet in Northern/Western Canada is terrible; not enough to run an MMO.
Second, the oculus rift just got sold to FB, and I was REALLY looking forward to playing Star Citizen in VR, so thats a huge disappointment for me 
cfs3corsair - I'm with you on the Oculus Rift thing. I actually just switched to contact lenses after 15+years of glasses just because I wanted to really experience the OR, and it wasn't very friendly with glasses. The Facebook buyout announcement occurred THREE DAYS after I switched! I was so mad! I'm not spending a dime on a piece of Facebook hardware that will undoutedly monitor my usage and force unsolicited ads directly into my virtual reality (and provide a new gateway for spammers). Moreover, after Facebook has time to make revisions, it will surely change from a high-tech gaming device to a casual social networking device. So disappointed!
Also, sorry to hear about your Internet woes. I hate my ISP (time warner cable), because they constantly (and unscrupuously) raise my monthly rate. But, they are FAST, so I guess I should be grateful... But, I'm not, and Google Fiber's coming to my neighborhood next month with their Gigabit Internet package... so... yeah... totally switching.
Oh yeah, cfs3corsair, forgot to mention that SC is actually 2 games - a huge space MMO, and a single-player story-driven experience called Squadron 42, like Mass Effect (or more accurately, the spiritual successor to Wing Commander). You don't need a good Internet connection for the latter, so at least there's that!

Cool. Hopefully I'll see you (+IHJ & Deager) around then. Release is still a good ways off. Maybe even by then Canada will have some decent Internet!

Ouch that hurts; three days after you switch??? Thats just bad luck, really bad. Yeah I totally agree with you on the Oculus Rift thing; FB will just track people, put in ads, and dumb the whole thing down. Sad sad sad. That was the one piece of hardware I was looking forward to. Oh well.
Although, the Oculus Dev Kit 2 is out, and as far as I know it is untainted by FB still... now a good time to buy?
Yeah will definitely get Squadron 42. And to be honest, you may have a point that my internet will be fast enough to run the MMO by release time, if I tweak a few things here and there, and the big 3 dont bankrupt me... Still, given the time till release, I am cautiously optimistic. Hopefully I'll see you all there!
Well, to be honest here, if FB inserts ads, they will not have success.
I mean, gamers will find a workaround for sure. Look at for examplo the playstation pad. Or the kinect.
Coders made a completely new firmware for them because they hadn't one. Once OR is published, they'll surely do one without trackers and/or ads...

Man, I played the crap out of all the Wing Commander games back in the day. I could probably still quote the entirety of WC3.
