It's a silly idea, but I also think it would be a fun one, and it's quite simple.

 

I'd like for there to be a side quest that's treated like a musical.  Everyone sings instead of talking.  Even the enemies will sing before attacking and also sing their war cries.  Dancing is preferable, but optional.

 

The only place this would work is the Fade, I think.  And it probably would be best suited to DLC or some less-important side story.

 

It's just a light-hearted element I think might be fun, at some point.  Due to the resources involved, I don't think it could be a long quest, or anything.

 

Anyone else think this would be fun as a sidequest, or am I just being ridiculous?

That would actually make for a hilarious Fade quest, IMO. The Fade's pretty freakin' weird so I could imagine something like this going on there.

If you selected a non-singing line, everyone could glare at you or something.  Or maybe you're trapped in the realm of a music-loving demon?  I have no idea what the plot would be, but something bad should happen if you stop singing before the quest ends.

This would be great as a fade quest in the main game, probably a companion or major NPC's nightmare but you have to participate to bust through it. (Like the recruitment quests in SR4)

I'd love for Varric to start the number without the instrumentals, then it builds up into a big scene where people from taverns pour out into the streets, and then it quiets down and the lighting fades to blue, and we have a qunari tenor singing his lamentations in qunlat.
