If Bioware is going to use plot armor on certain characters like Sister Petrice that Bioware locate the character in a place where the party should not have a chance to kill the character. Leaving Petrice and Varnell in the hut during Shepherding Wolves and not allowing the party a chance to attack was backwards.

Petrice and Varnell should have left the hut and gone back to the Chantry before the party arrives. Hawke and company would find an empty hut. If Hawke then tries to confront her in the Chantry one of the other companions could show Hawke how futile that choice would be.

Hawke is basically an unknown trying to frame or harm a faithful sister of the Chantry. If Hawke tried to continue on that path the companions would leave. If Aveline is with the party she would tell Hawke she will alert the templars and have to arrest him because Hawke has no proof.

An aside to plot armor, what about the Warden or Hawke able to learn templar skills but not having to consume lyrium. Does this not contradict the lore? Also it would have affected one of the quests in DAO and DA2. Precious metals could have seen the warden keeping the lyrium to fuel the templar powers. In DA2 Bait and Switch if Anso is questioned about the contents of chest Lyrium is the answer. A Hawke (if level 7) with templar powers may wish to seek out the chest for that reason.

Templar and lyrium is same thing as you use blood magic in front of temlars and no one cares. You can't have reactivity to everything.

I don't see how not having to use lyrium contradicts the lore any more than Hawke being able to be a Blood Mage without being actively hunted down.

Because both the lore and according to Alistair lyrium is used to fuel the templar's power. Not to bring the comics and other media in but in Bioware's canon Alistair loses his templar power because he is not consuming lyrium.

Hawke does consume lyrium; the specialization description mentions it.

Should have to actually buy or collect lyrium, in order to use it, though.

The gamer never sees Hawke use it, buy it or collect it. Unlike the Reaver specialization in DAO where the Warden actually drinks the blood of a dragon. (wyvern),

Lyrium is also addictive. You never see any ill effects on Hawke over the time span.

The Warden never consumes lyrium to unlock the Templar specialization either. It seems the only time anything is unlocked but you actually see it happen by some action of the PC is when it's consuming some kind of infernal bodily fluid of some kind.

This would have made more sense. In Hawke's shoes, Petrice would have died right then and there in Lowtown and it would be super easy. No one, not even the Knight-Commander, would be able to do anything about it, because what the heck was a sister doing in some shack in Lowtown anyway?

I'd rather see the main character use their plot armor effectively. We know that in cutscenes all deaths are final and we won't be killed ourselves, so attack all dragons during cutscenes!

I don't understand the issue. All characters have plot armor. Nobody dies unless and until the writers say they can.

I don't think any character should have plot armor, other than the PC, of course. But if Inquisition is meant to be harrowing, consequential, and intense, everyone should be able to die through the plot if the player isn't careful. It really adds to the feeling that the fate of Thedas lies on the Inquisitor's shoulders, much like it did on the Warden's shoulders in Origins.

I really want to believe that things like Sister Petrice only occurred because of extensive time pressure. There's just so much wrong with that quest.

Ideally, anyone you get a solid reason to kill you should get the chance to kill. Even if it's not immediately. But it should be long before they start asking you to work for them again.

I didn't really saw the problem we can't kill Petrice but I can see why some people say we should have option. Bigest problem for me was in quest there templars and mage make plot agents Meredith. I like why why I killing you all i want to help  it didn't make sense. I openly talk **** to Meredith what people don't know who I am like arguably 2 or even 1 most important person in city.
