The reason Liara got so much screen time in ME3 is because the plurality, if not the majority, of players picked Liara as their LI in ME1 and the popularity of LotSB. LotSB was made because there was a huge demand for more Liara content, (and a possible lack of pre-release development time).
Video games are a business. Straight and simple. You know why Jacob was the only ME2 romance not to have a romance in ME3? Because almost nobody wanted that and it would've been a waste of time and money to make.
If you all want a certain character in the next ME games to be favored, then go out and get anyone you know to pick them as well.
You sound silly.
Yeah, sure, they could spend a decade making the perfect RPG/Shooter in which how you talked to the Big Stupid Jellyfish on the presidium in ME has an sizable effect on ME3, but they won't.
I'm going to be siding with Bob here, although I really don't care much about Liara's content one way or another.

I also was totally unaware that scene on LotSB was not LI dependent. That was just wrong. It's right in the beginning of the boss fight. Shepard covers Liara while the second one gets covered by debris. If you romanced Miranda or Jacob or Thane, and brought them, they would be laying unconscious while you covered Liara. The writers shouldn't have played favorites there. Since this was Liara's mission she couldn't be knocked unconscious. So the way out of this one would have been to have no one get knocked out, and have Shepard move toward the LI, if any, and if no LI, toward neither. Basically everyone takes cover. The writers blew it. Since I only played this with a Liara LI, I didn't know this.
Shepard probably saves Liara because Liara is the only one she can reach.

Notice how the other party member is several feet behind Shepard and Liara is right next to Shepard. It's easier to dive forward/sideways than to turn and dive backwards ![]()

But it is one of the best scenes in the entire trilogy IF you're a Liaramancer.
I agree with that.

In the future, I'll redo a fem shep, and have a romance with Liara. My current renegade male shep have a romance with kaidan , so my future paragon fem shep, will have Liara. I like the bad a** asaris like Aria, or Aethyta, but I don't dislike Liara at all.

That is a good point. Still they shouldn't have half killed the other party member.

Because with it, we end up having arguments such as these. From my biased, Liaramancing standpoint, I couldn't care less, but it upsets some people.

Must we? How about I post some more pictures of liara instead, that'll lighten the mood.
Eh, you know David is mad when he starts doing a false psycho-analysis of people and inventing reasons why he's right. TrueBioticGod is one of the newer posters that seems to have a lot of his enthusiasm broken down by other users.

I'm merely pointing how that you would think Renegade players would have a different way of handling this than saying some variant of "Things have got to be fair!"
Trust me, I would kill Liara if I could, but BioWare doesn't allow it.
Also Paragon/Renegade should be removed in the next Mass Effect, such a horrible system.

Paragon and renegade have nothing to do with this. Though it is entertaining how you can consistently be counted on to invent and assign motives to your opponents and attack those rather than addressing the actual arguments being made against you.

I always found that scene with Mordin more interesting if you leave the option to sabotage the genophage on the table until the very last minute by not telling the krogan about the Dalatrass' deal.

*facepalm. You're actually going to try and justify this? With that?

Indeed. I think it's one of the greatest moments of roleplaying in the third game, if not the series. I play Shepard as torn over loyalties and alternatives, head spinning with the possibilities- but he's not going to tip his hand until he's made a decision. And I can actually feel that tension and conflict everytime Eve asks me if something's wrong. When we're finally in the Shroud and time has run out, the choice seems to crystalize in front of him. It's not just about krogan vs sarians, it's about the Butcher of Trofan just defaulting to his ruthless ways vs the man he's become fostering hope and life in a war that's getting rapidly short on either. Almost defeatedly, his shoulders slump- he won't be the butcher, not this time. This time he's the savior. He will find another way.
Beautiful.

Almost exactly how my canon plays out. Way more powerful scene, IMO, than blabbing about the sabotage in the truck and having a "there must be another way!" talk with Mordin.
