I can accept the fact that Liara and Shepard are friends, same as I can for Shepard and everyone else. What I can't accept however is the sudden spike in intesity of that friendship (just like with Garrus), when in the same game, another character I served with before I died treats me almost as the scum of the Earth (VS on Horizon). It's been a few months since I played that scene, but I distinctly remember lack of effort both parties put forward to explaining the situation. It jarred me because of how forced it felt. They were the only person in the entire series to actually voice the horrific things that Cerberus did in ME and they are written out of the game for what reason? Because we had the "Dirty Dozen"?

Another question: How is Joker able to fly? Shouldn't he have been on house arrest or whatever as well? Or am I missing an explanation?

Technically, Liara shows up twice on her own, and a third time if you invite her up. A fourth if romanced.

Which,I believe, can be attributed to the fact that she is the only one that's guaranteed to be alive and was, therefore, obvious choice when they needed somebody to bring Shepard news.

Lazy, yes. But kinda understandable.

I always assumed that Joker was simply present for some of the retrofits, considering that much of the crew on the ship was only there to oversee it before the reaper attack. I'm not sure what he could really contribute, though being the pilot, he'd at least be mindful of any changes made to the Normandy's bridge.

And there is the rub...the only one guaranteed to be alive. No matter what.

But I mean why wasn't he in as much trouble as Shepard? He left the Alliance to work with Cerberus. He should at the very least been in the same situation as Daniels and Donnelly

Crucible, you know. There seems to be distinct lack of Prothean experts in the galaxy :P More so the ones that are on friendly terms with Shepard.

I really think the VS should have been required for Javik's mission. It was Eden Prime after all; the place where the journey began for those three.

I always thought they should have been included as well, but I guess that delays Javik's recruitment.

The firstr dream she had no reason to be there. She tells me about the Turain councillor not giving help till the Primarch is rescued. We already knew that. Why does she have to tell us that? How about she tell me something I don't know?

The second dream, and I keep saying this, how hard is it to use the intercom to tell me the Salarian councillor wants to talk? Its too bad I couldn't ask her, "So T'soni. Was it quicker to come up to my cabin to tell me the Salarian councillor wants to talk than it was to use the intercom?"

And she is not the obvious choice to give us news. Traynor can do it. Throughout the game she used the intercom to tell something to Shepard so why couldn't she tell Shepard about the Salarian councillor or maybe the robot could've told me.

Shepard's comment also seems more ridiculous when you consider that it follows on the heels of the Asari doing a better job of defending their home system than the Alliance did.

Oh is that why everyone was so emo when Thessia fell?

Your analogy to real-life superpowers is flawed because every one of those nations has plenty of wars they've won on their own (even if some of them were with each other).

Being part of a coalition that ends up the winning side is technically winning. But for all we know it could be the same kind of "winning" a noob being carried on gold/plat gets.

Even if they contribute evenly, it's nowhere near as impressive as winning on your own. World wars or in the case of ME galaxy-wide conflicts would also occupy a different niche, it's not a straight comparison.

Shepard's comment might not be technically accurate but the burn is legit. For humans, war is a large part of our history and our culture. Almost in our blood. And turians are even more militaristic. Salarian subterfuge has its place too. But when I think of asari, "military might" is not what comes into my head.

Jeez people can be some right miserable buggers.
Who cares if she comes up once more than traynor? It's such a minor, petty thing.

There's so much bigger issues with the game yet we keep returning to this one bloody subject. It was entertaining before but now it's just boring. Every single thread it happens too as well.

It's a little thing called personal contact. Some people prefer it to intercom. Not me personally, but Liara is certainly a person like that. Traynor is a newbie onboard the ship, it's proper protocol for her to use intercom as well. Liara is an old friend, somebody Shepard spilt blood with. She is entitled to coming up to the cabin personally. You know, ties that bind... you were soldier, you should understand that.

Is this all what this is about? That your prefered NPC didn't have enough screentime? Newsflash, they made Traynor better at shadow brokering than Shadow Broker herself. How entitled she is to that is another matter alltogether(not really, but hey, what other point is for her to stay onboard the ship otherwise?), the last thing she needs is more screentime.

Traynor? She's human. Humans are special, didn't you know? That's why the reapers are making human jam. They've been wanting to ever since the dark energy plot.

Don't play that soldier card crap with me. T'soni is not, nor ever was or ever will be a soldier. She is not, nor will she ever be a friend to any of the Shepards I've played. I have no use for obsessed asari.

I don't want Traynor in the cabin after the second dream. All she has to do is use the intercom telling me the councillor wants to talk.

The ingame evidence suggests otherwise :P

Also, read what I wrote again closer. At no place I suggested Liara is soldier.

(Before this turns into a GVQ debate...Death to all toasters!!! :P)

I might be grasping at straws here, but the only way I can make sense of that is because EDI, who posed as a VI, only obeyed Joker's orders. So the Alliance didn't have much of a choice but to leave him on the Normandy. Cheaper than trying to install another Ship VI anyways. The Alliance resources were probably scarce before the Reapers invaded.

What evidence? The only evidence I saw is her being thrown acroos the screen like a sack of potatoes on Thessia by Kai Leng because she stood there panicking while Kai Leng ran towards her whereas a soldier would've shot him.

You keep talking about ingame evidence, but that is exactly what people don't like. I have Shepard's that were complete douchebags to Liara, but somehow she's still my Shepard's best buddy. They've spilled blood together? Please, Antony Shepard picked her up last and never helped her with the Shadow Broker.

I like Liara, but you can't keep talking about "ingame evidence" when that is exactly what people have a problem with.
