Like anything else the 'haters' aren't a monolithic group.
 
But yeah, most of it is just sour grapes over their favorite LI getting less content. The same thing went on after the release of Mass Effect 2 except it was directed at Miranda and Tali.

That's true, especially because most other complaints are downright nonsensical (or/and hypocritical). Tali's virginity, for example, is a much bigger theme in her romance. Liara doesn't even mention it if you start her romance in ME3 (I honestly couldn't care less). And if we're discussing forced friendships...just imagine there would be dialogue choices like "There is no Shepard without T'Soni" (paragon) or "Shepard and T'Soni storming heaven" (renegade) for single Shep...

Oh come on, you know that Shepard was a virgin... only possibly did it with the Consort, and all of Shepard's possible love interests except for Thane (who had to die because of it) were virgins because otherwise it wouldn't be heroic enough if they weren't. Even Miranda was a virgin. Well Jack wasn't but it wasn't her choice.

I knew you were being tongue in cheek. But with this being the internet.... I thought I'd go off on something totally unrelated because it dawned on me why the DE ending got dropped. I just thought I'd share. It sounded ridiculous.The worst thing they did IMO was have a reaper invasion.

Garrus's at least made sense, and you avoid him (or kill him) if you pleased. Liara, you're always f-ing hugging her.
