How many people want the player character in the next Mass Effect to be Shepard's and Liara's daughter just to see the reaction?

For the lolzes. 

 

Try 'rioting in the streets.' Shepard and Liara's daughter as the PC would basically mean that Liara proceeded to rape Shepard to produce a child with them if Liara was not the romance (not to mention the fact that it would mean that she held on to Shepard's DNA in order to impregnate herself at some point if the 'gift' on Earth was turned down, which I always do). That would be an affront not just to anyone who doesn't romance her but also to her own fans, because it really does go against her character for her to do such a thing. I have my issues with the way that Liara is handled in the series that I've said in this thread and many others, but I've gotten to a place where I take what is in 'canon' and whack it into alignment with a headcanon that makes it acceptable to me (treating her unquestioning loyalty to Shepard as a character flaw of hers, for example). Making her into a rapist, someone who took Shepard's DNA to impregnate herself just to have their child... That is a seriously character damaging flaw, the kind which needs A LOT of work to come back from, if possible. Liara's current handling makes me uncomfortable at best.

That baby wouldn't have any relation to Shepard and would just be another Asari.

Wouldn't have his blood, wouldn't have his DNA. Nope. Shepard would be the father, but he wouldn't be the biological father.

They use the other species' as mapping, but DNA would 100% be of the Asari. It doesn't matter in term of background setting, but the Asari wouldn't inherit any of Shepard's traits or talents, so even if we were to play as an Asari who were a product of Liara and Shepard. Her ability would be passed down mostly by Liara, so I don't think it's matter whether the biological father is Shepard or even Conrad.

So far, you're the one acting all upset. I haven't seen a single Liara fan trying to convince fans of other LIs to try and romance Liara.

It's most likely due to all the boys wanting to be lesbians.  A fascination I don't quite understand, all my Liara romance characters(in ME1 and ME2) are male.  I have done the Traynor romance, but in that one I was forced to play female, not my choice.

It'd be sort of like the Witch Hunt DLC, where gossip in the mage tower assumes your Warden went on the various romps at The Pearl even if you were chaste throughout.

(Not a fan of the Liara kid myself - only one out of four Shepards romanced her, and that one dumped her after ME1.)

You do realize there is like countless other ways to access lesbian porn faster, easier and certainly more explicit than what you see in the game? Seriously, if I want to watch women loving each other in explicit ways, why would I play 100+ hours game to see all together one minute of action, when I can see everything I want and then some and it's only a click away?

 

That last part is just... yeah... no words to describe how inane it is.
