So you wouldn't have a problem if I take armor from your corpse and display it for everyone to see. She may not be a psychopath, but she has a mental problem in believing that what she's doing is right. Again it may be something the Asari would do, but for me, as a human, she has some serious mental issues.

Not just on display - ENSHRINED. The mental image that comes to mind when I see that is Helga Pataki from Hey Arnold making all of these shrines to Arnold in the back of her closet, that, while it was played for laughs, it was still a sign of how screwed up Helga was. And yet Shepard just casually accepts this. It's never brought up again. I've said it before, there are a lot of elements in Liara's handling over the series that show that things were written with her romance in mind before anything else, which is a serious flaw in the writing.

It absolutely would be rape if Shepard did not consent to it. I have plenty of issues with the meld, mainly because this is how asari mate, even if it's used for 'other purposes' (and the fact that Shepard having the asari equvalent to sex with strangers in front of a roomful of people is SERIOUSLY sketchy, it seriously pisses me off that this is not just a plot point but an UNQUESTIONED plot point). But if Liara uses the meld to 'hold on' to Shepard's DNA to impregnate herself without Shepard's consent, that's rape. It is a sexual situation that Shepard (one not romancing her, anyway) only agrees to under duress, which counts as coercion, which is not consent.
