Ever since this guy was confirmed everyone seems to have been dissapointed how ugly, boring and most of all BALD character bioware dares to fling at us.This irritates me a bit because we have not even heard anything of his personality or history.

 

That is why I think it would be funny if he turned out to be in the end the best LI Bioware has created or something so all naggers would have to awkardly eat their own preconceptions.

 

But then I started to seriosly think about that possbility and now I think romance-plot with Solas could happen very elegantly between him and inquisitor.

Here is my reasoning why:

 

Bioware told us that Solas is somniari and expert of the fade. Now, that doesnt tell much about him personally but it does open up pretty intriguing possibilities.

What if Solas is an entirely different person in the Fade? What if he lives more in his dreams than in real life and invites inquisitor occasionally to share them. You would go through all of the deeper coversations with him when both of you are asleep and find each other in the fade.

Solas would shape your joint dreams into any forms you would desire: Flowery meadows, beautiful ancient ruins of the elves, glass towers etc etc. Even Solas himself could take any form you would desire him to be. All would be possible in the dreamworld.

 

Solas and the inquisitor could fall in love, but all of their  most important moments would happen in their joint dreams.

 

I think something like this could be pretty nice move from bioware. It would make a whole new meaning for the words like "inner beauty" and "romance of your dreams".

As far as I'm aware of, it is mentioned nowhere that Solas is somniari. Certainly not in the GameStar preview. Having said that, I wouldn't mind him at all as a romance option.

Yes, that would be indeed a nice excuse to talk to him only in the fade.

Oh I wouldn't worry about that, if he is a romance option judging by that picture I wouldn't be surprised if he was a romance option for the male Inquisitor only.

It's not confirmed that he's a dreamer. Just speculation.

But it is really silly that people are knocking him for his appearance. Even if people do find him ugly, everyone knows the most freakiest looking man can turn into a hunk if his voice is right. And if his voice isn't right, there's always his personality, and if his personality isn't right, there's the friend zone.

I'm curious about this character, but I've got nothing to judge other than few screenshots. It all depends on his personality, as well as what is an alternative LI....I mean, we should have an alternative, right? KOTOR&NWN times are not back again (just in case - I adore both games)?

If there are two female LIs, there will probably be two male LIs.  If there are three ladies, there'll probably be three gents as well.  I'm guessing there will be a total of four LIs, but no one's really sure which four.

 

Solas is as good a guess as any.  David Gaider wrote him.  However, I think I recall Gaider hinting that Solas won't be available for romance, so... I have no idea.

I will have you know there are indeed sexy bald people. In fact, I had a crush

on these guy's when I was younger and they are not sexy by any means;

 

 

(Ironically I still have a lady boner for Smee, I still think he's unbelievably cute)

 

But you have to admit, that Solas' character art did him no favors. He looked like Nosferatu. His in game rendering is much more forgiving though. But ultimately it will be his personality that will decide if I keep him on the team or relegate him to the back bench unless forced to tag him in.
