I find the lack of epic bulge in his pants disturbing. Why is it, the female companions have enourmous chesticles to please the male eyes, and we're stuck with...well not much to look at. If we can't get giant man-parts, I demand outfits with package enhacing qualities for all male compainions!
Theory: Solas will be the main "male-romance" for PC

I thought Thane was sexy, but none of the current crop of male companions are doin it for me.

I'm glad to see the BSN didn't lose any of its creepiness in the forum transition.

Personally I haven't found any of the romance options in the games particularly appealing and that hasn't hampered me any. Maybe it's cuz I don't play self-inserts though.

I'm actually thinking that he will be your adviser/mentor character, and that the gloriously bearded sex machine that is the Grey Warden dude will be the main.

Do you guys think Solas is gonna be the party healer? Cuz Vivienne does not seem the healing type honestly.

So far neither Vivienne or Cassandra seem to have huge breasts.

Both were shown casting fire spells, and considering want they stated about companions not being locked in a single weapon type (and weapon skill tree, if they are back), I think you'll be able to give both of them healing spells.

Yeah, I don't know where people get this from but they say it about EVERY female BioWare character in every game.

Yeah. The only female character with huge breasts, as far as I recall, is Isabela.Yeah, I don't know where people get this from but they say it about EVERY female BioWare character in every game.

Because of Ashley, EDI, Miranda and FemShep in ME, probably. Nothing to complain about in DA except for the general scrawniness. More muscle for warriors please ![]()

Neither of those characters have huge breasts though. Big, yes (though i don't think femshep fits in this either).

I don't consider any of those to have large breasts. Maybe EDI for the size of her frame, but the rest are squarely in the realm of average. Femshep was almost completely flat chested in ME1 and upgraded to average in ME3.

Nope, but they were progressively sexualized and "augmented" between games. They started out nearly flat-chested and then apparently had the time to get a boob job. Miranda was the same from the start, I'm fine with that. I found the other changes a bit ridiculous though.
My vanguard femshep's arms in ME3 were the size of my wrists. I was disappoint.
EDIT

Well, yes. I had the impression most people complained about the gratuitous sexualization, not the actual breast size.

Yeah I hated how tiny femshep's arms were, it seemed like she would break a bone if she shot anything bigger than a pistol >.<

He looks to be a fairly average and forgettable elf in appearance. That doesn't mean anything though. If David wrote him and he DID decide to make him a romance, I'm sure many of us will come to adore him despite his looks. Although, I'm quite partial to the idea of him being a mentor to the PC like Wynne. ![]()
I can't wait to meet the character and see what his personality will be like. I plan to use him as my party mage for my 1st playthrough, so I hope we don't get him too late in the game. *excitement*

If Solas is an LI, I would rather romance him in the awake world, not in the dream world where he can make everything to suit him or me. That seems rather fake to me, and I don't see my Inquisitor sleeping her life away so she can be happy with Solas only part of the time.

On the last part, I agree with, but we weren't speak about the oversexualization of female characters. Me and Nefla were talking about the fact that some people often state Bioware's female characters have huge breasts, while there's only one so far.Nope, but they were progressively sexualized and "augmented" between games. I actually just want them to stop having a Main LI (Alistair and Morrigan, Anders and Isabella) who have important main plot moments tied to them, and instead just tie every companion (or LI if that's too hard) to an important plot moment.
I mean, Sebastian was a DLC love interest and had a bigger plot choice tied to him than Fenris and Merrill.

I'm still unsure that we do have any healing magic at all. It has been discussed many times before, all those 'limited HP regen' things simply do not work with a healer in your party. Both mages cast something combat-like on those screens. On the other hand, it is known that he has something to do with the Fade, he must be familiar with the spirit magic (which is not only healing) . We can only guess for now.

Man, I feel bad for Solas. I'll admit I am a straight man and probably couldn't judge the attractiveness of a man for the life of me, but I don't think he looks all that bad, at worst he looks average. So many female gamers are being real harsh on doling out the rejection for poor Solas before they even get to know him.
I remember when DA2 characters were revealed, I didn't really think that Isabella or Merrill were overly attractive, however, after getting to know the companions I ended up changing my mind based on getting to know their personalities. I'm sure you ladies will be just fine once you actually take the time to get to know Solas in the game.

Agreed, people are acting like he's a hideous monster because he's bald. He has a handsome face, clear skin, normal frame (not morbidly obese, hunchbacked, etc...)normal clothes (not dressed like a jester or something) and we know nothing about his personality. The baldness makes him a little plain at worst but people are being super harsh. I bet if most of us forumites had a LI modeled after us NO ONE would want to romance them.

People aren't treating him like a hideous monster because he's bald. People are treating him like a hideous monster because he looks like Nicholas Cage. Luckily this is Orlais, home of ubiquitous masks.
