Flamer-less trooper is a Ferrari. Flamer trooper is a Ferrari with an automatic transmission. It's still a Ferrari, but it's not as much fun.

Ah this thread takes me back to elementary school.

Sigh. On topic (or rather off topic but at least about multiplayer and in the direction that the thread has turned) has anyone ever noticed that the Justicar with defensive bubble is the only kit that rivals the troopers shield regen, DR, etc. Why is the Justicar never built as a weapons platform, at least I've never saw one suggested? Passives and weapon damage of course isn't as good nor shields but her DR would be higher with Reave and Defensive bubble and she would get bonus damage from warp ammo versus primed barriers, health, armor. A little trickier to setup since the Trooper's DR is pretty much toggable power versus having to set up the bubble/Reave combo.

I've specced her as a biotic soldier ever since I started playing... I thought everyone did that. Defensive bubble, radius/DR/DR reave, Saber/PPR/Indra/Wraith for cqb maps as a primary, an Acolyte secondary (because why not?) combined with Warp ammo. If you also stick to hard cover, that DR is delicious.

What's the alternate build that allegedly everyone else uses?

Radius, Enemy Weakness, Warp Effect. Double bubble build. You get double BEs that way. Reave then bubble then reave again. Bubble is one of the few powers that detonates and reprimes instantly.

There are plenty of weapon platforms available.  A 66644 BE build is more interesting with 2 of her powers able to both prime and detonate.

Isn't the bubble Warp basically the same as the vanilla Warp with one point in it? Even if it double detonates the risk of getting that close to an enemy to set up a bubble doesn't seem to be worth the reward of a pretty weak double BE. At least IMO.

That's a common misconception, and trust me, it's worth it.

It's 6+6 explosion and gets the debuff applied as well then you can redetonate almost immediately.

I'm pretty sure it's a 1+6 explosion. There is technically only 1 (out of 1) point spec'd into Warp.

So bubble Warp+Reave is the same as vanilla Warp specced for detonation+Reave?

Hey now,

Just because a car is slow doesn't mean it isn't fun to drive.

For the pupose of a BE, I believe it uses the rank of the power, so the Justicar Bubble, if it had 6 ranks, would create a Rank 12 BE with a Rank 6 Reave.

(If that's not how it works, I apologize, but I'd be really shocked if they penalized the Justicar by limiting the BE level of the bubble to 1.)

6 point detonator, 1 point primer.

Source is dunvi.

So how about that Atlas?

can it get one cast KO'd by a Flamer?

So bubble Warp+Reave is the same as vanilla Warp specced for detonation+Reave?

Well the 6+6 explosion wouldn't have the same multiplier as warp would. So it would be a little less damage there. Plus warp has a single target dubuff factor that would increase the damage to a single target from the BE. Warp bubble on the other hand would debuff everything inside the bubble instead of single target debuff up to three targets I believe however the 6+6 explosion is still going to be a bit weaker because BS doesn't have the modifier that warp does. I'm not sure if that answers your question or confuses the **** out of you like it did me.

That doesn't seem consistent with other powers though. I mean I'm sure she had a reason for saying that likely looking directly at the coding but typically it's always a primer and detonator determined by the power rank.

Bubble is the 6 point detonator and Warp, like I mentioned earlier, is the 1 point primer.

I'm looking into it. Heaven knows why. I recall knowing that it detonated as a level 6, but the warp effect is applied as a level 1 warp and thus detonates as a level 1 warp. I can't confirm that at this time, and I hope I don't have to resort to testing because I'm lazy.

It's cool. Hell with it if you don't have time.

I mean the modifiers are more important than the evolutions as far as damage. A 6+6 and a 1+6 aren't that much different in power IIRC as long as the modifiers/debuffs are consistent. Where did I put that damage value thread?

Edit: After a little looking at it, I think it's around a 600 point difference (versus armor and barriers) and a 1 meter loss of radius in between a 6+6 versus a 6+1 BE without considering debuffs, multipliers, etc. So many a little more than I thought but still not that much a difference.

I am pretty sure the level 1 primer was determined to be false quite some time ago.  I have always gone off Peddro's test found here http://social.biowar...3200/6#14085729

the amount of damage he found from the BE seems to be consistent with what a 6+6 combo would do with the debuff and no BE multipliers due to the lack of them from either bubble or reave.

I wonder if the warp from the bubble works for warp incendiary cheese?
