I just….I can’t…..I feel so very betrayed. How could they do this? Why have they killed us? I support their games, support their rpgs and now they plunge a dagger into my spine!

 

Baldvienne, Baldy the elf…Everywhere I turn I see Big ole Bad Baldies. How can one form an Inquisition around conspirators, miscreants and evil? Baldvienne may even have to be neutralized if I cannot control her anti-mage machinations. I would not be surprised as to find out that she’s actually made out of lies. I mean, physically composed of deception, deviousness and duplicitous ambition further enhanced by the inherent immorality of her crude baldness. And that’s why she dresses like that… To hide her lies!  Solas will blind the party with his scalp should we enter combat, if he’s not too busy selling us to his buddies in Tevinter. He might just have an 'accident' if he finds himself lacking of healing talents.

That would bring her back into equilibrium, but only shortly. She doesn't agree with the rebellion so that gives her a minus five to bring her back into the negative. I will then be forced to conspire against her and eventually duel her like the gunslingers of old.

I'm still not sure why some folk still think Solas had hair in the War Room concept art. I'm 99.9% sure he's just standing in front of something that's giving him the illusion of it. I guess the only way we'd know for sure is if someone asked the artist, Matt Rhodes, if he drew Solas with hair. But, yeah, I'm sticking with the idea he's always been bald.

 

As for whether being bald is an issue? Not really. I'm fine with each character we've seen so far who's either sporting a buzz cut or is completely hairless up top. Hair or no hair is a-okay with me; in fact, my first Inquisitor (female Dalish mage) is gonna be sporting a similar 'do, so, I say, bring on the Baldquisition!

Well now I feel weird. I was actually hoping she'd have a buzzcut. I, personally, don't often see that on black women; though you're right, it may just be a stereotype specific to African women. And I've definitely seen some artists struggle with black hairstyles when they don't just make it straight and call it a day. Hmm.

 

Though to be honest, I even thought about modeling my f!Inquisitor on this one from the concept art:

 

I still might do it. I'll roll with Vivienne, Iron Bull, and Solas and call it the 'Bald Ambition' tour.

Because the top of his head is partially shaved, and it ends in the ponytail. If you have a dark screen, you might not be able to see the shaved part of his head. (The art in question, for quick reference.)

 

Also, that would be a very strange and poor choice to randomly put a post/object (or whatever), a choice I don't think an artist like MR would make.

 

I think Vivienne is definitely bald, because Gaider has posted her concept art on tumblr praising it, and she had the buzz cut in it. She and Iron Bull aren't void of hair, you can see the "stubble" of their buzz cut there. If any of them aren't really bald, it's probably Solas, because his head is totally without any stubble texture or anything. I would like it if he ended up having hair. He did in the concept art. I'm not holding out too much hope, though, or I'll be disappointed. He's the only one I really don't like the baldness on. 

 

Yeah, I agree. I thought the Vivienne reveal was cool, though I sympathized with people who were disappointed. But at least the buzz cut is still pretty. Solas's baldness makes him look sick. Oh how I miss that concept art ponytail

I think he looks Great...Solas that is...and tbh to me he looks more like Keanu Reeves from Matrix in that pic, well with the angle it's at it does. Golly I can't wait to see another pic of him up front...up close...Bioware!

I find baldness beautiful.  I love the feel of a freshly-shaved head.  Wait a few days and spiky stubble gives way to soft velvet.  But it's not for everyone.

 

I, myself, lack the bone structure to pull-off a shaved head, which I believe is the root of Solas' mawkishness.  From what little I've seen, he might benefit from a less-spherical skull balanced with a slightly more substantial jawline (while remaining within the constraints of the fine-boned elven aesthetic).  The lighting in the few pictures we've been given accentuates the gauntness of his cheeks and obscures his jawline, leading to the Nosferatu-effect.  I personally prefer Matt Rhodes' more substantial version of elves.  But then, Solas is a mage, not a warrior.

 

Since her unveiling, I've always felt Mme de Fer channelled fashion icon Grace Jones (still gorgeous at age 60 in this 2008 interview).  I certainly prefer this to the Kid 'n Play (yes, I'm old) hair cut she sported as Zula in Conan the Destroyer.

Eh she claimed that, It could mean many things, its not like she sat down and explained point blank, i cured myself of the taint she stated she MAY be the first Warden to not undergo the calling.

 

As far as i know? That process can be stalled out via heavy usage of blood magic but not stopped.

 

Gaider may change things for the supersue, perhaps, perhaps not but the point remains until further detail is released to me she is still tainted and thus still has her hair falling out, leaving her...Bald.

One shotting a brood mother doesn't mean you can cause cellular reconstruction, And this is where we differ considering Healing magic has been shown to be many things, And Avernerus was the very point i made and even he had he only slowed it down and he was rapidly approaching the end point. And Supersue may or may not be an exception to the rules, as i said we will see. I just view it as more plausible to assume it like many things out of her idiot mouth was hyperbole and inaccurate dribble until otherwise confirmed.

Blech, bald (or buzzcut) women always freak me out. As long as she keeps it under that hat it's all good though. Still, I can imagine that rendering natural black hair could be rather difficult. Probably for the same reason that you don't see a lot of curly hair in gaming either.
