In my Canon playthrough, he is jointly ruling with Anora as a Hardened Monarch. Whoooo! Can't wait to see how his cameo will play out.

So this is my Steve Valentine story.
We were having our first BioWare Base at San Diego Comic Con (the one accross the street in the Hilton). We were showing off Dragon Age: Origins. At this time, we hadn't really started working with VO actors (as Con guests) and were focussed on show off the game.
I was outside working the line, greeting people, explaining what we were doing there and what the game was, etc. From the doors of the hotel came this tall guy with a nice looking lady. He watched me for a minute (I was wearing a staff-only DAO red shirt with white dragon on it, pretty obvious I was part of the booth) and then walked up to me. He said "Excuse me, my name is Steve and I'm a voice in your game." I said "Yes you are Alistair. Welcome to the BioWare Base." He laughed and introduced himself and the lady (who was his lovely wife). He asked if we could show her the game as he wanted to explain to her what VO acting was and who he played.
We brought them in, showed them the game an she was really impressed with the game and what her husband did. It was fun watching him watch his character in action, and I remember he would occasionally say the lines at the same time as Alistair on screen did. He was super friendly and really interested in how the fans were liking the game. He also made sure to take pictures with all of our staff (I still have the one of him with his arms around me & Jay Watamaniuk) before he had to run off to another engagement.
I'm glad to hear that he is working with BioWare again. Hopefully, he'll be Alistair again, but we'll see what happens. ![]()

He's on the throne with my warden in my canon play through so if he appears as King I hope his lovely wife gets a shout out. Regardless I'll be happy to see him again. He's one of my favorite characters in the franchise.

Hopefully not for a cheesy fanservice swooping line like in DA2 >.< I like Alistair, but I seriously cringed.

Oh hell no. On my last playthrough I happily killed Alistair when I found out it was possible and was happy he didn't show up in Dragon Age 2. Now he's in DA:I? What's it with Bioware and trying to hit us over the head with this boring character and giving him a through-line in every game? Even having him show up as King in DA2 for a useless cameo?

If you killed him he won't show up in your game, so why do you even care? As you can see from this thread, it makes other people happy to see him, and since you don't want him around you can execute him at the Landsmeet or sacrifice him to kill the Archdemon and never see him again.

Woohoo! I can't wait to hear what he's got to say. Hopefully it's something about swooping.

Please don't try to turn something positive for many people into an argument over whether or not Alistair's a good character. If you don't like him you won't have to see him anyway.

Ok, so Leliana, Morrigan, and Alistair are pretty much all confirmed.
I know it's cheesy as hell but I'll say it.
I want a reunion.

Wait, have they confirmed Leliana yet? Well I do hope she would make an appearance. She's "left hand of the Divine" after all ![]()

I'm under the impression she is in the 'War Room' concept art, and that Gaider has said Cassandra and Leliana don't get along...which seems to indicate there is more written interaction between them.

I demand a scene with the three of them arguing over what to do about their missing Warden.

This could be super intense and/or incredibly entertaining. ![]()
I just want them making fun of Morrigan's new outfit... ![]()
(I have no problem with her outfit btw, I just think both of their reactions to her new look and her reactions to them would be priceless)

I agree with you... the girl with the hood look a lot like her.... i think we will see something similar to Mass Effect 3 for old companions

Wasn't there a topic about this a few weeks back? lol.
What is Alistair gonna look like with this new engine? He got bloated in DA2.

He looks almost the same in DA2 ... so i think we will just have better texture and hair and a more dettailed model... but he will look the same ![]()

Hopefully if its true that Alistair does appear it will be due it making sense for story reasons for him to be involved rather than a repeat the Dragon age 2 cheap cameo. Equally if Alistair is present as king then Anora should be represented too if that choice was made.

Yeah she's pretty much confirmed, she was in the concept art the coronation, she was mentioned in the game informer cover story as a person set to make their reappearance in DAI, a little after that she was basically confirmed to be in dai in the game informer article building a dragon age rivalry: mage vs templar.Wait, have they confirmed Leliana yet? Well I do hope she would make an appearance. She's "left hand of the Divine" after all
Here's an excerpt from it.
Another character who may be set to re-enter the Dragon Age ring? The redheaded, religious bard Leliana. “We’ve been building Leliana up to essentially act as an agent to the divine,” Laidlaw says. “I think it would be fair to expect that she might have some say, especially given her appearance at the end of Dragon Age II. But beyond that, mum’s the word.” Leliana has always represented faith and spirituality, often testing belief and being a way to question players about how they feel about the Maker. “As far as I can tell, if you look among our fans, people have a lot of strong opinions on [the Maker],” Gaider says. “It’s a good place to go.”

Man, they killed Allistair on Supernatural a few weeks back...damn.
Still, glad to see he's alive in Inquisition.
