Only if he's not already dead, executed by Anora at the Landsmeet.

I honestly don't understand what is with some players and wanting to kill off various people. Sure there have been companions I wasn't crazy about and some that I couldn't stand, but I've never wanted to outright kill them. I just never bring them along and move on.

pixelated characters are not people. and don't throw rocks at me! ![]()
i'm not sure about others, but i, for one, like killing those characters just to see how it will affect the game and change my PT or because it seems fitting (plot-wise or whatever, Anders-stuff). with all the love i have for them.
the most annoying ones usually stay alive because i cannot stand talking to them (therefore i cannot antagonize them in any way), they are just armour placeholders in the camp left there only to satisfy my sense of completion (additional quests, etc.).

nah not the way to go for him.
besides Alistair is the only character in the series i really wanted to slay personally. doing that through execution is kinda lame(because he is a warrior after all).
I just wanted to cut his head off, fasten it on the chain-hook and hang on belt. in case of execution? well most likely they just bury him in unknown grave and that's it. no joy at all.

i don't hate that character, however Alistair is a hindrance of sorts. Baby-face and a decent fighter at the same time.
honestly from what i saw during Origins i can't believe that he actually become a "good" king after education. I just don't buy it. Besides my Warden had more important things to do rather than be a father-figure for that boy.
So in all six of my saved playthroughs he is not a king and Anora rule alone. With Loghain as a warden.
But for breaking of subordination and being blind to the facts - i would like to have Alistair killed, but not through execution. He didn't deserved that.
As for his head as trophy. Well... That is what you do when you worship Dark Gods.

Bioware's forums over the years have been filled with players that actively want to kill some/all of the companions that PCs have in Bioware games. Various reasons.
Hate.
Effect on events.
Just to see it.
*shrugs* Its part of what you'll get here.

He is much more than what david gaider threatened haters with for his next character. Somehing about chuck norris and ripping off chest hairs and reaching out of your screen to slap you senseless.

I wanna know what he wanted to talk to Hawke about in Da2. Perhaps we meet him in his castle, and there's a battle, and while he's helping as a non-companion (blue ring), he keeps mumbling about how he wishes he had had a chance to talk to Hawke.
If he was drunk, maybe we show up to talk to Anora or Eamen, and he walks in holding a wineglass and making snide remarks about heroes never living up to the hype.
If he's a warden he's bound to be doing wardenly things.

I could tell he was going to be a good king as soon as we started putting him forth as heir. That's the way stories work, the young, good-hearted but untried prince is always a good ruler, ultimately.
Which is interesting because DAO tries to deconstruct so much. But Alistair leading Ferelden to ruin with or without Anora seems so depressing.

what about it?
Normal people calls that...err.. hatred?
define "normal people" first please. Hatred is something that slowly burning within you. In case of Alistair - it's not. I just wanted him dead because his behavior saddens me. And in time when Blight is raging and Archi flying over your head you just can't allow some infants to step out of the line. Not at the war time.
His behavior is based on pure emotions and bag of complexes he have. People do not change, you are who you are, you can adapt but you can't change yourself. And during entire gameplay he acts like a child really. Yes player can man him up a bit, but you can't get rid of Alistair's dependency of emotions.
So sorry no, i can't believe that this particular character can be a good King or a leader.

i liked allistair in origins, he was funny and a decent character.... In DA2, if he was king he was annoying as hell.... never saw him in the bar or as a warden... i just remember him as a king in da2 being a dbag.... I mean his swooping is bad quote was funny in origins, in da2 they just threw it out there like "hey swooping is bad" *two thumbs up with happy smile on his face* annoyed the hell out of me.... if he is in inquisition, they better make him well better

I can see it now. The Inquisition will be in Redcliffe, having an audience with Eamon, and Alistair will stumble into the room, drunk and pantsless, an embarassed Teagan and Isolde rushing in behind. He'll start slurred yowling about how he can be an adventure, too, before muttering something unintelligible about swooping then barfing on Morrigan.

I just realized that IF and thats a big IF Alistair is still the drunken mess he was in DA2, if Morrigan finds out, she's gonna have a field day
Gut busting laughter, literally rolling on the floor she would
The game would have to stop for a few minutes, probably with an option at the bottom of the screen to skip the endless loop of Morrigan laughing because it literally will keep happening unless you skip it

I actually had a more jaded, rational Alistair pictured. They'd been trying to sober him up and now he's angry at everything, and walks in drinking wine and coldly insulting the inquisitor because heroes are stupid.

Can someone explain to me about the Therin dragon blood line? In the codex for Calenhad it says all about the rise to power and that he was crowned in 542 Exalted. I cannot see anything about dragon blood in the game or in the codex, only that he was named as one of the Anointed by the Chantry in 788 Storm is that right? What does Anointed mean? A saint type of title?
Have we the only the comics as reference? Silent Grove where Yavana tells Alistair about it. Then in Until We Sleep in which Sten gives the Qunari version of a witch of the wilds taking Calenhad to a dying dragon where he drinks the blood. If Alistair was a Reaver, how was that realised by those playing Origins? Did Alistair know about the dragon blood thing and just not say? Apart from taking Kolgrim's offer, I cannot see how else the player knew this and would see only him as a Templar and Champion.
