I think that's AWESOME. ... I want to work to save them all. I want to sweat bullets and feel all sorts of anguish when I realize I made a bad choice and have to live with the consequences. ... That's the sort of gut punch I want; an actual sense of loss instead of reloading and playing through a three minute fight again.

QFT. This. So much this.

Easy to save them all. Do all the achievements basically lol. Research upgrades, weapons, Normandy upgrades, do all loyalty missions, recruit everyone. Not complicated to survive. Oh, and talk with your characters WHENEVER possible.

Even if I end up having to sacrifice some of my ideals and make more Renegade decisions than in the first game, I will do everything I can to save eneryone.

The dying option is to catch all the speed gamers, folks. If you are trying to blow through the game like ME 1, then guess what, your party will suffer. If you actually take time to experience and enjoy the game, you probably get a good ending.

Isn't there an achievement for saving everyone?

I am more than willing to 'accidently' leave Thane behind. I wanna see him start croaking like a frog in anger.

Atleast they are making it hard to save everyone, i would hate it if it was that easy to save everyone just by giving everyone upgraded guns and it all ends in sunshine and rainbow's.

Casey said ti was based on decisions you make through the game and during the suicide mission, it may be easy or it may be quite difrficult.

I am assuming it would be at least a  mild challenge if they made it an achievement and they expect most people to lose people.

But he could be blowing smoke.

Sounds to me like you can save everyone in your first playthrough, but you'll have to play the game a very specific way.   If Bioware is really evil, some of the decisions in the first game may even factor into who lives and who dies.

A not-so-evil but more assholish way would be having everyone you care about hating your guts to the point of abandoning you in the final act, thus ensuring their survival. Loyalty is death.

I'll bet that even having your Shepard survive at all will have to involve some kind of Faustian deal to make you look like the biggest douche of all time, and the third game will have that imported Shep as some kind of sad footnote of a side mission.

Could it have something to do with dialogue options? I mean it was impossible to save Wrex without high enough Charm or Intimidate, which you might lack on the first playthrough. I think it's more that kind of situation. Well, I hope so, because my import has full Charm and Paragon.

I doubt you'd have to sacrifice yourself for everyone to live. It certainly would seem possible, but the fact that Mass Effect 3 exists means that it probably is possible for all + Shepard (No one left behind) to come out the other end of hell, with little more than a few stories to tell.

Actually you can save Wrex without charm or intimidate, but you  need to do his little side mission armor thing.
