Actually, she was one of the last dominoes in that chain.
In Asunder, she killing Pharamond was the first thing to happen solely in the book.

Adrian is the type of mage that makes one think that the Qunari might just have a point.
Actually, now that sounds like a perfect punishment for her. Give her to the Qunari.
Bioware should give us the opportunity to make it happen.

basically.
she's a loose canon
The Circle doesn't equate to Adrian. I'm talking about her, personally. First you agreed with Kain that it was the player and now it's the Circle?
You still have the mindset of hating her before meeting her. Which is fine, but you can't expect me to give chances when I find it hard to believe you will.
Regardless of my personal feelings, I don't plan on preemptively killing her, and will avoid doing so at all if I can help it. It's that I can expect from you.
It would be a real waste for Adrian to be limited to the role of an antagonist, after all the talk about how the player would get into the depth and nuance of both sides, having seen the "extremes" in the prior game.
I suspect she'll probably be one of the leaders of a Mage extremist group, probably a fairly large one. There'll probably be a way to compromise and make an alliance with her, just like they'll probably be a way to compromise with the Templar extremists. If she's matured during this time, we might even be able to turn her offer down peacefully, more likely it'll be one of those join me or die situations.
That's pretty vague. I guess I'm trying to understand why some people hate her so much. War in itself is a complex undertaking.
Most people hate her because she killed an innocent mage then pinned the blame on her ex-boyfriend so that the Templars would arrest him, causing his mother who was Pro-circle to go against the Templars to save him and thus leading to the scales of votes to turn towards the abolition of the Circle which the Templars responded to with violence and now we have our war.

Killed one who was begging for death. That frequently gets completely ignored. And Wynne had to be jolted out of her complacency.
The only reason I actually don't like Adrian is because she thinks she has a moral high ground.
Edit: I just reread what I wrote and should probably point out that I have never been to jail.
that's what they all say
From what I recall, Xil is going Dalish for her first run; I don't think that a Dalish elf would necessarily trust a shemlen Circle mage (given what Ariane said about the role of the Circles in the defeat of the Dales) or a templar (who have hunted the clans down).
And Adrian is a "shemlen Circle mage" too!

Did she know that when she went to him with a knife already in her possession with the intent to kill? No.

To be honest though, who doesn't claim to have the moral high ground these days?

Ah, I see. Thank you. Why did she murder Pharamond and then blame Rhys?

Shemlen willing apostate with no desire to aid the Chantry. That's quite different.
Did she know that when she went to him with a knife already in her possession? No.
Does that really matter? Especially given that she'd have been sure of it beforehand, given her stance on Tranquility.

Me. I just like honest people with honest goals, that don't think that their goals are any better than this next person, but alas they fight for their own.
Actually, the templars did that.

can you please use the link instead of asking questions. like you blatantly ignored it, it's much faster and easier than filling up the thread.

She thought it was the only way to provoke the war, to shock Wynne into voting for the mage secession.

This is really getting funny.

Yes, yes that does matter. Going to kill someone before you know they want to be killed is still bad.

Woah now, JB, don't go so blood thirsty on me.
