Jowan did open a portal into the Fade with a spell that it normally takes multiple senior enchanters to perform, despite being an apprentice who didn't seem to be very skilled with magic.

And Malcolm redid the Warding that took the best of a generation of Warden Mages to do.

I don't think its comparable really, opening a rip in the veil with the life force of another isn't overly hard, Blood Magic can sunder the veil easily enough after all.

It's fairly easy to obtain huge results in short amounts of time with blood magic, as Jowan and Orsino demonstrate.

Assuming Orsino studied it in a short time

<_< I'm assuming he was full of it when he said until then he had never used it.

So you think that Malcolm was a dedicated blood mage, then?

Don't see why we wouldn't put hardline extremists on both sides as possible enemies as well though, its something to consider.

Some within both no doubt would view the Inquisition with malicious intent regardless of action undertaken, or you know it could just be generic badguyafaction like Cerberus in ME 3.

Inquizzy: "But i support mage freedom!"

Adrian: "NO LIKE ME YOU DON'T! DIE!"

Inquizy: O_O

I dunno Adrian is somewhat crazy lol

Anyway, regarding Adrian: perhaps she'll be killable, but if she does show up, it shouldn't be forced.

For what purpose, though? To have a character to kill? Why not allow the player something to do other than execute? I'd like to better understand the fraternities, to get their sense of perspective, and to have the choice to help if my character agrees with their viewpoint.

That's why I'd prefer to see Adrian as a character we can better know, and not as an extremist who the player would have to put down as one of countless villains.

Thought the same about TIM, Kai Leng and Cerberus.

._.

Look how that turned out.

If Adrian is an unavoidable enemy, I'd think there should be significant templar characters on the other side that are branded the same. I would say Lambert, since he made the choice to pull out of the Chantry, but I feel like he might be dead already, so maybe it wouldn't work. I'm not really advocating doing this, because I think it's unfair to people that saw their actions as sympathetic, but I think they need to balance the positions if they decide to do it with Adrian.

Bummer that Bioware has a track record of doing just that.

Different teams making different series. In any case, the Red Templars fill that role already.

No, but i am saying it can be powerful in the hands of powerful mages.

The principle has been established, i will be fearful of that in many future bioware games to come.

They probably will, but then again that position might be filled by Fiona since Adrian isn't all that special regardless of what she did in Asunder

Some players hate Fiona because she opposes the Chantry controlled Circles, and argued for the Fraternities to vote for autonomy.

Actually some of us just dislike the character for being a generic supersue.

You can't ruin Fiona. She started off horrible; you can't make her worse.

I don't see her that way. Fiona is an elven mage who came from an abusive home under an Orlesian lord who treated her as his personal pet, and lived a horrible life in the Chantry controlled Circle. She earned Duncan's respect as well. According to the codex on the axe named after her, "When Polara disappeared—perhaps recalled to Weisshaupt, although none in Ferelden saw her leave, nor have seen her since—Duncan bequeathed to her son a silverite axe of great value. Duncan said he had wielded it and a twin in younger days, back when he had been a far different man. He'd named the axe 'Fiona' after a Warden who inspired him, and suggested that the son ought to take similar inspiration from his mother."

Despite everything she's been through, she forsake her own freedom to return to the Circle, and help her people: “I came to the Circle from the Grey Wardens because I saw something had to be done. In the Wardens, we learn to watch for our moment and seize it - and that moment is now.”

ROFL. I seriously laughed hard.

She is an elf mage, former slave who was abused and raped, turned Grey Warden, cured of the Taint, a dragon king's lover, mother of another, who ran from the Grey Wardens without consequences only to help other mages, became Grand Enchanter almost immediately and is now a freedom fighter. She was your mentor's best friend, Duncan. He named an axe after her Fiona (axe)

How dare you insult such a splendidly written character that does not make most Mary Sues sound tame at all? (pun intended)

Seriously though whether you like it or not she is obviously Gaider's pet and favorite. Learn to deal with her or be disappointed when you witness her glory in DA:I.
