It was more you confess or rot in this dungeon but yeah. I still feel he made a legitimate attempt to find the truth. Which is one of the things I did ad more about his character. It wasn't just all mages are bad and there is no reason to investigate as I already know who did it.

What part of obtaining a confession with the use of extreme threats counts as a "legitimate attempt to find the truth"?

 

In a world where logic and the concept of due process actually exist, information that is coerced out of a person through threats or violence would be dismissed out of hand. Because people will confess to witchcraft or being abducted by aliens if you scare or hurt them enough.

What part of he deserves his own place in hell did you not understand. There is no way to incorporate that with me defending him. I jist want he was an interesting character that could have easily just been a mustache twirling mage hater. But he wasn't.
