I can't speak for that poster, but from personal experience I can sympathise with her. It's difficult living in a situation with very little freedom and privacy even if you have the nicest of things and three square meals. It tends to foster a lot of rage in some people. I'm not saying I think what she did was right, but I'm kind of surprised there aren't more mages driven by rage into doing stupid things.

 

Edit: I just reread what I wrote and should probably point out that I have never been to jail.

 

I mean, I get it. As my sig says, I'm pro-mage. I've had a close relative in and out of prison, as well, so I get that too.

I don't think we have any statistical data about the number of suicides in the Circle of Ferelden.

So did Uldred, that isn't exactly a popular viewpoint outside of their circle.

Due to it being illegal; still, there are clandestine groups focused on it, like the Mages Collective and the mage underground.

Um no the Libertarians can spew their unpopular venom all they like, and i am certain if they allowed mere mages into the Fraternities they would likely be far larger then they were, my point is this their idiocy isn't contained to those who merely blow things up, Although it sure does seem to include a lot of people of the mindset that mages need die for their politics despite it not being their own, or their own choice.

Aldenon should be grateful to the Chantry. Had he two thougths to rub together, he would have realised on his own how his dream of a secure society of men entitled to the law and where a man can tend to his land in peace is incompatible with the freedom of mages.

Therefore, by containing them in the Circle, the Chantry accomplished that which Aldenon set out to do.

It felt right at the time. Irving profusely thanking my elven Hero for freeing the mages from "their shackles" is also an awesome moment.

Ah, well, my Warden-Commander followed it up by becoming an Arl. I'm sure the Chantry just loved that.
