40 endings... wow... Is it too much to hope for actual cut scenes at the end instead of stills?

 

WOW jar of bees - I assume that's something that would come in handy for a rogue class. Like bombs but cooler. I wonder what else can go in a jar... HmmmMMMmmm...

 

Part of me is starting to worry this game might be too complicated. I mean... changing ecosystems and all that... So I have to make sure I don't kill too many wolves or whatever? Don't pick too many herbs?

 

And will we have to weigh up the pros and cons of killing bandit group #5... Because keeping them alive, though not the "correct" thing to do, might be a benefit later on...

The 40 endings bit is something I chose to take with more than a grain of salt. Bioware said ME3 would have close to 20 different endings too. Wasn`t really true, was it? 

 

You're right that it wasn't true. Bio never said that. IGN said it.

So? They didn't write the article in February. They could very well added that info because Solas was shown in the meantime.
But yes, they wrote that info in the wrong way. The Gamestar magazine wrote some things in the wrong way. The info of the cities could be right or wrong, but considering that i find doubtful the we won't see any city (and we saw some Shots that can be about cities), I tend to believe in OXM.

Love everything you said here and almost all of it makes me super excited!

The 40 endings thing- I just can't see that being accurate. Thrilling for sure but extremely perplexing. I just don't see how that would even be physically possible- espicially if they are releasing it for consoles. How many discs would this game be on? Still squee worthy. I would have loved some scans of the article, a link or something.

Actually, he probably did. The deadline for printed magazine is usually one month before release.

Bioware also promised that ME3 would have vastly different endings that took into account of your choices....

I really don't see how they can have 40 vastly different endings...I'd be happy  at least 5 a massively different and the rest are tweeked variations of those.

I expect that the number one thing Bioware learned from ME3 is to not over-promise things that would come back to bite them later. There's absolutely no way EA's PR people would let something into print again like that if it's going to cause a similar sort of uproar. Whatever people finally thought about the game itself, it wasn't a good look to have walls of quotes that didn't match up to reality - and if they haven't adopted a new approach to pre-release statements for DA:I, I'll eat my hat.

 

That's not to say you can trust everything that's in a magazine article, but I really, really, really doubt that Bioware will ever again be as loose with the truth as people were last time. It burned them too much, too publicly, for too long a period of time.

I really hope BW takes a moment to clarify just what is their definition of "40 meaningful endings". It would be good to all be on the same page as to what is being communicated. I really hope they elaborate on that.

 

Did OXM say Morrigan was a likely party member? When discussing the companions, they said Morrigan was likely, too. Is that just them speculating a bit?

 

The combat is sounding fantastic, and the enemies. Intelligent bandits, eh? Imagine that. And the encounter designer died while showing off the battle with the dragon. Oh, dear.

It's been said ages ago that Morrigan was NOT a companions. So speculating a lot.

I think Bioware shouldn't talk about the ending at all. ( not even to clarify what the magazine meant ) That seems to be something misleading again. Just let us discover the endings after the release.
