Can't the game do both? What's wrong with finding out about some stuff in the epilogue? Unless you like to reload immediately if you don't like a consequence, I don't see the problem.

There's nothing "wrong" with it. I just don't care what happens to characters when the game is over.

Frankly, I don't care what happens to minor NPCs at all.

But I will say that I'm playing a video game, not watching a movie or a book. Video games are differentiated from other mediums by the interactivity of the experience. As much content as possible should be present in the interactive portions of the game, the parts that consist of just watching or reading should be minimised.

After two days, no one has a confirmed source?  No one at all?  Not a link?  The gaming news sites have exploded with these rumors.  All roads point back to here, which while humorous, has no credited source.

So I googled for this supposed Xbox magazine preview and guess what?  Only the OP's name and the word "rumor" is popping up.  Perhaps I missed it, but I want a source for this information.  All I see is someone that was happy to spread this rumor around the net.  Where is this supposed article?  When is it supposedly coming out in the US?

The only things I found that was DA Inquisition related for the OXM was this: http://www.totalxbox...ge-to-xbox-one/

I also found this, which is the latest article published.  This was as of Monday (March 24th):

http://www.totalxbox...w-environments/

This is all the information released according to their site about Dragon Age: Inquisition.

http://www.totalxbox...ition/?site=aus

I have surfed all over the net and spent over two hours googling for this information.  Considering that we've gotten a few elusive responses from the devs, why should we believe this "source?"  The devs remarking on clarification about a rumor without directly confirming nor denying it is something they've done in the past.

When is this article being uploaded onto their site?  If I knew when the article itself was due out (and not based on a best guess,) then I would be far more inclined to believe this.

As it is, when the official OXM live site has nothing on it, when all gaming news sites are pointing back here for it's source, I'm much less inclined to believe it.

I'd imagine it's never getting uploaded to their site, because print articles usually aren't, because the idea is that if it gets published on the website people won't buy the magazine.

Maybe I'm tired and I'm missing something crucial with your post, but I'd take a gander that has something to do with the confusion here.

Bird, send that to her some other fashion. BioWare is pretty adamant about not having magazine scans posted on BSN, y'know! That'll get you in trouble. (Hence a great deal of Natashina's trouble.)

If you're talking about the source of the original post, it's OXM.

You understand that OXM is a print magazine. OXM Online has different content.

I'd still like to know when it's due out.  I do apologize if I seem rude, but the news sources don't even have those scans as a link.  If someone could write to them and send them the link, that would lend a lot more credibility to this.  I wasn't trying to attack the OP, I was only attacking his source.   :)

Yeah, nothing on OXM's official site though, as you'll see by my links.  That's why I was calling BS.

Well, it's already out, I believe. But every major gaming news site is risking pissing off OXM itself if they start posting links to tumblr feeds which scanned what is supposed to be individually-purchased material. That's why once the OP here posted a quick summary it was fair game and major outlets jumped on it. They know it's authentic because they've seen/bought the magazine itself, but they can't post links of the article without doing a bit of a no-no; this is also why I told Bird to edit his post, since BioWare follows the semo credo.

This is how it always goes when it comes to subscription magazines. It's just very bad form to post links to scans. It's copyright infringement in the eyes of the magazine companies. They rely on consumer payment to exist.

Those scans are a breach of copyright. A legitimate news source would no more link to them then they would pirate bay.

I am nothing if not wordy.

Very skeptical about the 40 totally meaningful endings, but the cover art is sex.

I guess I'm of the belief that if it can't be directly sourced, it shouldn't be considered news then. I didn't realize that the magazine scans might be an issue, though I should have thought of it.

If it's out, why isn't it on their website yet?

A fair ethic, I suppose, but then a great many genuine online articles would no longer exist.

It's not on the website yet because it'll never be on the website. The remaining print magazines of the world will place small-fry stories on their websites as supplemental material. If they were posted on their site for free there'd be no reason for people to purchase the magazine.

Oh, you edited your post. Um, I'm not sure when it's out. I'm, err, looking at it right now thanks to Bird's temp link, though; I'll openly admit that. :P It's definitely quite real.

Yeah, exactly. I learned this the hard way when I stopped buying a particular magazine years ago, expecting the articles to just show up on the website anyway. Well, some reviews did, but even then as a summary.

Oh, and JeffZero: I edited my post (thanks again), though it still got removed and I was sent a warning about it. Well, I don't blame them!

I will say this though: the OP's honesty is not in doubt, but OXM's writers' ability to keep track of everything they're told during studio visits is once again very questionable. It's telling me right now that Morrigan is likely a returning party member... nope. If you do track down that article, Natashina, take it with a relative grain of salt except in cases of exact developer quotes, because wow, they've got a few things wrong here for sure.

I apologize, but as I said in a PM, I've seen really good fakes before.  Really good ones.  Again, why doesn't the OMX site have even a blurb stating: Here's the summary.  If you want to read more, please check out your local newstand"?

Until I see OXM or another official Xbox site say that I can buy it and read it myself, I'm treating any "fact," including scans, as rumor and nothing else.  I'm not sure why the net went crazy over something that has no direct links other than some person's tumblr.

@Jeff If I could find that article to read for myself, I wouldn't have posted earlier.   ;)

Aren't some of the screenshots now circulating the forums actually taken from that article?

So...

I also saw some of those screenshots from the Gamestar magazine, which I know is legit.  And came out before this thread was even started.

I think your best bet right now is to directly ask the OP. Other than that... believe what you will for now.

Jeff, you know I like you, but I am not taking anyone's word as "legit."  Plus, you aren't the OP.

@Littlebird  That's mainly who that post from earlier is addressed to.

I'll be nice and wait until April.  If this is true, then the physical copy should be out in a few days.  I will be going to a bookstore/grocery store or where ever to read this for myself.

I know I came down as harsh in the thread and for that, I apologize to everyone.  It's just been a giant Rumor Mill around here and can be frustrating.

Mea culpa guys.  I hope I'm wrong about my thoughts about this and that I'll be pleasantly surprised.  :)
