From what I know the endings, the locations and Morrigan's status as companion were clarified/corrected.
Thanks.

I'm a little confused. If the Inquisitor is the only person that can close the veil tears, you'd think that his presence would be required all over Thedas instead of just Fereldan and Orlais. I guess something will happen at the end of the game that closes ALL the tears. Or maybe the tears are only in the southern half of Thedas. Guess we'll find out when the game launches.
We don't know that there are Veil tears all over Thedas.
I had thought they said this was happening everywhere.
If it is indeed restriced to Orlais and Ferelden, then it leads me to think those places are being targeted specifically.

Same, looking for a source now. I think it's in one of the older issues of GI. Give me a few.
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=f8xJMWRI-cA They say that anomalies are happening all over the world at around 1:30. I guess that doesn't mean veil tears per se but it's an easy assumption to make.

Ah, thank you Cylan. That was driving me nuts. <starts closing tabs on her browser>

'Anomalies all over the world' sounds like an exaggeration. For one thing, how would you even know if there are anomalies outside of Thedas?
The wording is a bit strange, but I think it's safe to assume that when they are talking "the world" here, it's confined to Thedas. It doesn't matter if there is anomalies outside of the DA setting or not. I mean, we have the book The World of Thedas. So whenever I hear the term "the world" connected to Dragon Age, I immediately think of Thedas.
All of Thedas has anomalies with the Veil happening in them. So yes, the entire setting is affected by this. It was pointed out by another poster that it seems for now that some areas have more issues than others with this entire event.
Simple! Some oriental gentlemen from the jade empire are going to show up at one of our keeps on some ships asking if we know anything about the angry, fiery monsters and purple horned women wearing nipple clamps that suddenly popped up all over the place.
More seriously, yeah, that sounds like an exaggeration and the plot would probably be better served if the veil tears only happened in a smaller area. I remember when I played Oblivion when I was younger, I was bummed out there was this apocalyptic crisis going on all over Tamriel and you only ever got to see how it affected Cyrodill. Good thing that worked out in the end.

Yeah, they mean the known world. Like how in the story of Noah, the Flood didn't flood the Earth, but just what people knew as the whole world.

Aside from the Aldmeri Dominion being recreated and making the Empire their b@#$h, causing almost everyone to have an undying hatred for mages, the last heir of the Septim Dynasty and the fall of the Blades. I think everything turned out fine-and-dandy ![]()
What's the inaccuracy? (This is on my list of things to read 2moro.) Is it just that they said you can visit Nevarra but you can't?
Edit: - just deleted myself blithering about press trips and their specific challenges. Actually, I'm happy for people to have their misconceptions about previews.
I don't think I could be bothered discussing it.
But, I will leave you with the funny bit. I was so tired on a BioWare press trip that I asked a guy - who I thought was a French journo - to have breakfast with me. Turned out he was just a random French guy. (Remembering that still makes me blush horribly. He asked me to explain the word, "qunari.")
Shouldn't the first post be altered to reflect the statements the developers made?
A bee bomb? Really? A bee bomb. The interactivity with the environment sounds interesting. Different. Wonder where they're going with this.

Are the bees a stun item or a damage item, I wonder.
From memory, wasn't Stinging Swarm in Origins both a nature damage and taunt spell? Like, Dalish or shapeshifter?
(PS. Dirty pantaloons are totally another item that you hurl and it wraps around the target's face and neck, knocking them down ... )
Perhaps I'm being just mean, but I'm so tempted to post this onto OXM's facebook feed:
They didn't get everything wrong just...a lot.

That's not being mean, that's being fair, they got paid for that trainwreck, so their just have to take responsability.
I feel for BioWare on this one, big time. The fans that follow the forums and/or all the developer comments know what's up, but that misconception is spreading to the masses now. I'm glad that Convention Season is just around the corner and the average fan won't have to live with those errors for long.
The Topic Creator really needs to change the title to
Official Xbox Magazine Dragon Age Inquisition Preview Of Lies!
This thread.
It's case-in-point of why both AAA developers and print outlets need to devise new approaches to the preview/review cycle, IMO.
Anyways. Shall read tomorrow. Sounds like there is still lots of interesting info in there. (Hopefully without content spoilers. They drive me slightly nuts for these games.)
So Official XBox Magazine Assumptions then... Bloody excuses of gaming journalists.
