A few hours ago it was confirmed by Bioware that Alistair is set to return in Dragon Age Inqusition. http://www.examiner....age-inquisition. I honestly don't think he's going to be a companion, though can't say I'd complain if he was, given he was one of my all-time favorite characters in DAO. However, considering the fact that he is killable in Origins, I don't think his role in the game will be overly huge, as the people who killed him off would be missing out on a quite a bit if he was a big play in the game. There's an idea spinning in my head that Alistair could possibly be part of a side mission to seek out Hawke and the Warden (if your Warden is alive that is) or something similar. There's also a theory that he's around because of something to do with Morrigan. In any case...what are your thoughts and speculations about the return of Alistair?

I am tired of him, to be honest. DAO, DA2, the comics... Just leave the man in Ferelden and let him rule.
I only want to encounter him on his throne in Ferelden doing his own business.

Considering in a large number of savefiles, Alistair is king, I think he's going to have a fair part to play in Inquisition. The Inquisitor is going to be a world leader so he'll probably have a meeting with Alistair/Anora/Celene and other leaders at some point. I doubt he'll be a party member.
Otherwise, he'll be a gray warden and will be involved in their plots or a drunkard recently turned to Fereldan.
Or dead, like he was on some of my save files when I felt like being mean to spite the fangirls back in the days when Alistair mania made Bieber fever look like child's play.

I hope he is more than a cameo and that his implications might go as far as getting him killed if not careful.

I'd be happier if my Inquisitor could marry him and be Queen (only if my Cousland or Surana isn't with him)
mwahahahahahaha Queen Inquisitor

Little lots of things.
Like a little wizard for example, I guess? Kickass.
Anyway, frankly I'm moderately thrilled.

I'm glad he's returning; he was an interesting character. I'm hoping to deal with Alistair and Anora when I'm establishing the Inquisition in Ferelden. I'm sure there will be important issues that need to be discussed.

I just hope he isn't a cheesy pointless cameo again :< also I never want to hear "swooping is bad" ever again. It was funny in DA:O, it was stupid and made no sense in DA2. Make new funny stuff, don't regurgitate punchlines at the screen and basically go ehh? ehh? Trying to get you to laugh.

I just hope he doesn't end up dying with a bunch of leaders. With 40 endings, it seems like they might want to equalize the world states a bit.

I don't think he'll play a major role. Maybe he can at least send you on an optional side quest.

Cool, but if I hear one 'swooping is bad' someone is going to die. Painfully.

Meh. I'm so far removed from DAO it doesn't matter too much for me. Plus since I'll be playing a completely new character it doesn't make sense to have any emotional connection to him. Probably just be a few cameos anyways.

Like i said in another thread...
*knowing it would never happen, but imagines with glee how awesome it would be to have loghain and alistair begrudgingly fight side by side to defend ferelden from demons*
Loghain: I never thought we'd ever find some common ground boy.
Alistair: And all it took was a demonic invasion on our home.
Loghain: All these years and still with that lip...any kids yet though?
Alistair: Is this really the time? and I'm not comfortable talking about my *private matters*
Loghain: Your private matters are the concern of all Ferelden.
Alistair: Well that's not scary or creepy at all...
