Hopefully, whatever they produce is something we can all enjoy, regardless of our views.
Agreed Wilhuff.

If you still need the Asunder reference about fraternities of enchanters and their numbers...
Asunder, page 407
"The Aequitarians were the largest fraternity, and now as always before they held the balance of power. If they sided with the Libertarians, together they would outnumber the others. If they sided with the Loyalists, the question would be settled irrevocably."
So the Loyalists are the second most numerous and the Libertarians are third?
So the Loyalists are the second most numerous and the Libertarians are third?
No; the Loyalists had every other frat backing them. Seems to be that it's Aequitarians, Libertarians, then Loyalists.
They've said that they're adding new obstacles that can only be passed by specific classes, so I think the "mage party" would be broken. I think they probably already added elements this time to encourage a variety of classes in each party you put together. So, I don't think 3/3/3 is that unlikely. It just depends on the new system, though.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say before (in a not very elegant way).
If 3-3-3 is a reality, then there's probably enough gameplay systems that discourage the player from using a party of three mages, even if it is technically possible. When players have to keep in mind plot reasons for companion selection as well as exploration, non-combat skills and creature encounters, I don't think it's as simple as saying "three mages will be amazing at combat, why would Bioware allow this?".
(As in, we cannot assume that a party of three mages would be overpowered. It might actually be very harmful in certain combat situations, and it will almost certainly cause the player to miss out on exploration content completely.)
Because he clearly isnt as understanding as Thrask but no where near as bad as Meredith? You know... moderate.
And please to not be using the "he said mages arent like every one else!" Please... that was 9 years before the end of DA2 people grow. Gd.
Why say this to me? I never stated that I thought Cullen was moderate.

Because you said "why would he be considered a moderate" that was my answer.

No that was what you asked me when I asked why all mages get lumped together.

I misunderstood your post then, apologies.
Sounds good to me. I wasn't expecting Leliana to be a companion, so I'd definitely be happy if she appeared in an advisory position, or as the Inquisition's Spymaster or the like.

No worries ![]()
So like I'm pretty ashamed of myself right now.
I am presented with two possibilities:
Either I never noticed Leliana in the right corner of this concept art... (which seems less likely) .
Or I never saw concept art with Leliana in it, and none of my friends linked said concept art, knowing very well that Leliana is my waifu,
Maker shame us all.
I didn't read all 20 pages of this thread (it, unsurprisingly, seemed to have been dominated by Leliana and Cullen talk), so excuse me if this has already been covered: So what do we know about Scribe Girl so far?
She's dark-skinned. She's wearing distinctly "exotic" apparel that doesn't seem to match up with the type of clothes that we associate with any other cultures/characters so far. She has never been showed in any combat or battle areas.
What do we think about her so far? Is she Rivaini (dark skinned with gold adornment like Isabela)?

I think that she will either turn out to be what this thread says or a early Vivienne concept piece.
(Though I actually think a developer has said that they were not the same)

Yeah, a dev confirmed that they are different characters, so she's not Vivienne.
I agree with the thread speculation about her role. I was more speaking about her background/culture and personality. I haven't seen much speculation about that yet.

I see her as something similar to Tali when it comes to personality and as origin Rivaini.
We would need a mage, then.
Not really.
Or least not if the rumored roles these advisors is going to be play is true. Supposedly one is overseeing the intelligence (spycraft) arm of the Inquisition, one is handling military matters, and the other finances and trade.
Assuming that rumor is true (got salt?) none of those roles would necessarily require a mage. The first seems geared for a rogue, the second a warrior, and the third a character with a mercantile background.
I think we'll also need a senechal for the Skyhold. Like Varel in Awakening.

Hard to say without any other knowledge than her looks. I don't think she's Rivani, it would almost be absurd if all dark characters are from there.
I would hazard a guess that she's maybe a lesser Orlesian noble (We don't have one of those yet, right?)
I hope the Scribe Lady is a LI. Looks cute
I think she's Rivaini
Why make Cullen a npc again?
As opposed to a companion? Or just in general? To his credit, he's a proven soldier, he's seen firsthand what happened in Kirkwall, and he has experience with demons and abominations. My guess is that he was the de facto Knight-Commander after Meredith was petrified, so he'll have some clout once Inquisition rolls around and a more nuanced view than most in his position. He seems perfectly suited as an adviser NPC (or companion) to me.
I hope the Scribe Lady is a LI.
Me, too ![]()
