I think something is lost culturally here, what are surprise meatballs and how does that apply to dorian, wanting to rid is homeland of "corruption" instead of embracing the arrogant, overtly self confident blood mage Magister vibe we get from the other Tevinter magisters we run into?

 

they tried to make us embrace the goat men, why do they insist on the only Tevinter companion not embracing being a Tevinter magister?

think of the distrust between Dorian and the Iron Bull in that circumstance?

or Dorian Praising the imperial chantry believing it is the rest of thedas has it wrong.

 

Why must the Imperium be seen as the bad guys, all the time. 

 

 

Because in the leaked survey, it said that Dorian was a surprise, or was surprising because he was trying to rid his homeland of corruption. He's not the typical evil magister, like Danarius.

 

And you do know how the devs like to compare their characters to food? Surprise meatballs was one of the foods.

So far the male companion list is nothing but disappointing. My team looks like its gonna be Vivienne, Cassandra and Sera the whole game. Iron Bull may impress me, but not as an LI.

So I guess chances are really good that he is an arcane warrior. 

 

Why? You have to make the assumption that he's a companion, then make the assumption that he's a mage despite carrying a pike and a longsword, then make the assumption that he's Dorian.

Still pretty balanced sex and class-wise.

That said, I HOPE that the game has another female character, but unfortunately, there isn't a wisp of a rumor FOR one. If we go by Origins' pattern and count DLC and the siblings in DA2, traditionally, when the balance is off they tend to fill that gap with a male (usually a warrior).

Yes, meatballs that were left on the desert table. So, one of the companions is supposed to be completely different than how they first seem.

Also, it's been stated in that article or somewhere that there won't be a DLC companion character.

So we have 9 slots for DAI.

So he's holding a staff and drawing a sword? I always wondered why he was holding it kind of funny. The staff, i mean. But that makes sense, now. So I guess chances are really good that he is an arcane warrior. But then I'm confused because I never played that in Origins. Is an Arcane warrior a mage, or a warrior?

 

arcane warrior is both! kicks arse!

 

lay down hell fire then zap turn translucent and charge in like a banshee, I was like a god! probably wasn't how the dev's intended it to be played particularly seeing as I used blood magic as well using my other companions as batteries through blood sacrifice and wynn in turn healing them!

 

best of all you could wear armour meaning you could trot around in high level gear mage tank, there was so many variations i used a hybrid style of my own where i would pop in and out of arcane warrior mode even go full blood mage by speccing both morrigan and wynn as healers stocking up on potions and speccing for max health (heaps of armour, heaps of health, using some of the best weapons in the game and using that health as mana to keep the arcane warrior on his feet)

 

**** gets heavy pop back you have a full mana bar ready to rain havok!

What...Shale likes pretty sparkly things, is put off by the idea of you calling 'it' fat....and seems fine with the idea when 'it' finds out that 'it' used to be a female dwarf.

I'm not saying it is as grossly overbalanced as the current line up is, I am just saying, that there is precedent for only 3 women with the rest of the cast being male or other.

 

And also considering that there isn't one scrap of rumor for another female companion. Other than Scribe and surprise Leliana, but everything seems to indicate that they're going to be NPCs and not companions.

 

Mayhaps that is the reason for all the male companions... all the predominate female NPCs... Possible Leliana, Scribe, Celene, Justina...

 

The only other concept art of a woman that wasn't the Inquisitor or someone else listed above was the shaved head/braided dual sword female elf in a couple of arts.

It's worth keeping in mind that World of Thedas included concept art for Tevinter battlemages that specifically had them holding swords. 

 

I just don't think that looks like a pike that would be used. It's pike-like to the point where I could see it being part of an artist's conscious effort to make a magical staff that looks like a spear.

 

That entire character looks like someone went to an artist and said to draw a martial mage. Robed, but with bits of armour, wielding a staff that looks like a spear, and holding a sword.

Going 6 to 3 would be grossly overbalanced compared to past games.

Clearly surprise meatballs refers to the jar of bees companion. No one was expecting that.

I want someone hilarious like Alistair and Leliana.
A character that I want to keep as a permanent party member whether he/she is good or bad stat/class-wise.
I usually make my party based on their personalities and characters rather than usefulness in combat.
