While I sympathize with the female Shep short-coming for ME3, only 18% of people play female Shep, so it's not that high on a sales perspective, so I can understand (Not saying it's justified) to pay more attention to male players.
Ok...but...that means almost 20% of Mass Effect sales came from people who wanted to play femShep. That isn't a majority no, but take that away and its a significant hit to Bioware's profit.
Additionally, I have no problem with males outnumbering women as companions. I do have an issue with them outnumbering women two to one. Literally, double the amount of men over women. That isn't a just a skew like in past games. And yes, the argument can be made that there is Loghain and Carver or whatever which skew the data more, but those aren't full time companions. And that ratio of companions you can have for the majority of the game is all I care about. If we were going by people who can be in your party at some point you might as well add Daveth and Jory to your male DA:O companions list.
And why is it only straight men would be upset by the lack of female companions? Because our companions are just there for eye candy?
I'm interested in seeing more then three female characters cause ya know, I want to see many diverse female characters.
That said, I would rather see a second female warrior, as unlikely as that seems haha. (or, someone suggested they changed the Tevinter Magister character to a woman. I'd be cool with that too.) Or the badass braided elf girl.
